If you typed in the coordinates from points A to B, would the magenta line appear on your gps. If that happens can you just set the heading hold to that heading and follow that?
@julle3213 I happen to have one while urs is spent poking around youtube for answers when clear information could've been obtained from a better source.
Ok well I know how to use the GPS and everything but I am wondering like when I take off how do I get the plane to climb to cruising altitude on its own. And as well while i am flying how do I get it to hold a steady altitude without me having to hold the yoke the entire time. Because if I let go of the yoke the plane wants to naturally climb and i have to push the yoke down but then I go to far and it starts to go lower in altitude than I want . So how do I keep the plane level during flight.
@Deltarocks1 You need to set your altitude hold button to whateverr altitude you want to crusie at, then you push button for altitude hold and put on autopilot. Hope that helps. BTW i used to have the same problem cuz i didnt know what to do.
I understand that a ILS approach has to be within 30 degrees of the planes flight pattern/path.The localizer wont pick up and display DME either. I miss approaches if the runway is 30 or more degrees. The GPS and/or Nav function does not guarantee an absolute accurate approach for me.
@TheManics4 Oh you have to do "All that stuff", manually. Because if you don't, How the fuck will the plane capture the ILS signal, Oh c'mon if everything goes like it is, In the future planes are going to fly automatically, without pilots.
Also say i choose a airport e.g heathrow can i choose like 27r and will it show me the direction to where the runway is, also like say if i choose voc and it takes me to my airport will it like turn to the runaway then i like choose app please reply??
Alsok say i choose a airport e.g heathrow can i choose like 27r and it will show me the direction to where the runway is, also like say if i choose voc and it takes me to my airport will it like turn to the runaway then i like choose app please reply??
can you set the gps to the destination and follow it manually? I know auto pilot is ideal for long flights, but say for an airport that is only a short distance away, can't you just fly and follow the gps manual?
@SurebrecUK Absolutly. The route it displays is what the computer flies and if you wanted to you could manually line your plane up with the line and you'd still get to where it was set for.
Also, you can set all autopilot controls the same, but turn on flight director instead of Autopilot. This will generate a guide of exactly how the autopilot would fly the plane if it was turned on.
It´s 100x easier to use Flight Planner before start flying, that´s the way that I use in order to fly to point A to B... by now, im only having problems when I have to land :S
@roadsterX all you need to do is put the ils heading and radio frequency into the plane and it wil line up with the runway and it will get you on glideslope and right before landing switch off the auto pilot and land hope this helps
@ThEc00lEr The heading doesn't always work arbitrarily. If you are flying south of the runway and the approach calls from the North. The plane doesn't automatically line up. It doesn't for me anyway.
@roadsterX I would say to descend when you are at 10 minutes from runway (in airspace. I descend to between 2000 feet to 2500 feet and make a visual approach with the glide slope runway lights.
Thank you so much! this help a lot. But i have a question. When i load up the ..... the plane doesnt follow the line on the gps. i tried app hold and vor/loc
Yeah the NAV/GPS switch was turned to GPS. I did the exact same things as you did in the video. I'll double check autopilot. Oh, and a route was definately loaded.
