A Reactor is a lot less fragile than the rest of Riedell's plates, but honestly, for $300 you could get a MUCH nicer plate. These have 10° plates. Stable and great for going in a straight line. Problem is that derby skating involves LOTS of turns and sudden changes in direction. For the same price you could get yourself a DA45 Snyder Imperial or Royal. For about $200 less you could get a DA45 XK-4 or Invader converted to DA45. More agile.
Amazing video, it helped me a lot to decide on my skates. I will go for a Vandal 265 boots, and after when I have more money I upgrade it.
