I think you underestimate the usefulness of practicing 3 in each hand while working on 6. I have been doing 3 in each hand (mostly my weak hand) a lot lately and seen a lot of improvement. I stop and collect while doing this when I break the fountain pattern or start to turn and it has solidified a lot.
@WhalePhobia I agree practicing 3-in-1-hand is very useful for 6... what I meant to imply was once you have a pretty good handle on 3-in-1-hand with both hands, it's better to just start practicing 6 rather than trying to "perfect" 3-in-1-hand. Anyway, the advice in this video is not truth or fact, just my opinions based on my experience. I almost always still warm up with 3-in-1-hand for a minute before practicing 6.
I don't have a ceiling high enough for the 6 ball pattern and its too hot outside. But minor problems aside (as well as tongue and cheekness), a personal issue of mine when juggling anything more than 4 is collisions. I can juggle 5 fairly comfortably now, but when I do have problems with the pattern, it is almost always a collision (or falls on my hand the wrong way). Regardless of the way I practice 6 they nearly always collide. I try making the pattern wider, but that torques my wrist.
im good at 6 now i can get 77 catches when i watched this video i was thinking that throwing them higher will make me soon get 90 catches ive also got 13 catches of 7 and 8 catches of 8 and i think i should do my 7 balls a bit higher because low is hard please comment back!
@KARLOSTAR100 I have seen some great jugglers juggle low and fast while other great jugglers juggle high and slow. There is not a "correct" way, just try lots of different things and go with what feels most comfortable for you. Hope that helps!
@Mushi98 6+4+6+4+6+6+2+2= 36 / 6 = 6 , so it is valid. Some people do juggle it as ([44],[44])(4,4) , but when I juggle it it feels more comfortable as ([64],[64])(6,6)(2,2) because the (2,2) gives more time to set up for the next multiplex.
@nisael007 It's different for everybody, but I'd say to "master" 6 balls it will take up the majority of your whole life. To give you an idea of my own progress, I've been working on 6 balls for about 3 years now and I've reached the point where I can do 30-50 catches of the basic patterns fairly easily, and I can do quite a few tricks with a bit less consistency. I'm much better than I was a year ago (when I made this video) but the progress is very slow. Good luck!
hey great video, thank you. I am in the category you spoke of at the end; I can juggle 3,4, and some 5, but i cant 5 ball cascade for over 20 catches. But i can juggle a 6 ball multiplex. I learned the 6 ball in just a day or two of practicing. I have spent a lot of time on 5 ball and just cant grasp it yet
This video kinda sucks... what a loser, I don't need you to tell me how to juggle 6 balls. You probably don't know what you're talking about anyway, asshole.
@masterlegend10 No, "thegoheads" is a total jerk. I also hear rumors that he is a fat unemployed alcoholic loser. I wish people would stop confusing him with me...
@masterlegend10 I will probably make more tutorials someday... If I made a 7ball tutorial it would mostly be about how I warm up for 7 balls and how I practice it, because the "how to do it" part becomes obvious to anyone who is actually ready to juggle 7. I might do that someday though.
@Andrexo3o I qualified 8balls about a dozen times.. but that was about a year ago. So I guess I could probably still juggle 8 if I wanted to. I don't work on juggling 8 anymore though, just flashes.
@747Hero I've never tried 9 balls. I'm sure I could flash it if I worked at it for a while. I did try the 5-in-one-hand grip a few times and I had too much trouble releasing the balls one at a time.
Duuurrn, man I need this tutorial! Here's a huge strength about this vid (and also a kickass wayof demo-ing how good a juggler you are): so MUCH of it is just a single take! I cheat my lack of skill by using lots of splicing.
@ctjuggles Thanks, Chris! I'm glad you noticed that, because it is much more difficult than people realize. I spent a couple hours just brainstorming about everything I wanted to say in the video, and then I managed to get everything in just a few takes.. A lot of splicing is still good too though, because it helps get the key points across without wasting too much time. Some of my tutorials end up being much longer than I want them to be.
Thank you steve, maybe I'm no ready yet? you said that one would know when he is ready, but I'm not sure if i am.
I can easily do at least 15 catches of 3 in one hand and have already done 19 cathes of 6 async, I can flash 6 sync or async 90% of the times but maybe my 5 balls juggling is too bad yet, my record for 5 is 112 cathes, i cand do 1 up 4 up 90% of the times and short runs o half shower, i cant do 645 and any other siteswap, I cants do 66661, is it good to me star practicing 6?
@josesblima I think you are definitely ready to start working on 6. I would recommend spending most of your practice time working on 4 or 5, but if you can already consistently flash 6balls and you have qualified it several times, you ARE ready to begin regular practice of 6balls.
66661, as Ronnie mentioned, is also helpful. And 666660.
Practice pattern control rather than always trying to get a lot of catches. Many people believe that if you always try to run the pattern as long as you can, you may end up with bad practice technique. Don't focus on being consistent with 30 catches until you are VERY consistent with 10 or 20 catches. I hope that helps!
If you have managed to get 40 catches, then you are definitely capable of becoming consistent with runs of 30 catches in the near future.
I do have a couple more tips.. Try juggling slightly higher than you normally would. A slower pattern speed is less tiresome, and although higher throws require more accuracy they should result in less collisions.
Always warm up with the 4ball excercises shown in this video. That really helps me.
The wimpy is almost impossible for me! I never really practised it because it isn't symmetrical and it just feels.. wrong... for some odd reason... haha. But I can do the half shower pretty easily, how weird is that?
I don't know why I always have so much trouble with halfshowers.. I am fairly consistent with short runs, and I really like the way 6b halfshower looks.. It just frustrates the hell out of me!! haha
Wimpy is strange.. I can sometimes run it much longer than fountains with less effort, because the scooping motion with fountain patterns is what makes fountains so challenging. However, wimpy is by no means an "easy" pattern.
Solid tutorial as usual! I've been working on six balls for quite some time, and I'm finally getting to comfortable point(slowly) but it's always nice to here other peoples thoughts on wich is easier and wich they like the most. oh yeah for me what helped a lot was learning the 5 ball 66661 siteswap, because it needs a certain amount of percision in the throws, wich translates into more percision in the 6 ball pattern as well!

Is it possible to lean 6 before 5 because 6 looks more simple to me for some reason.

@blackwaterboy2 Possible, yes. Practical, no. It's probably counterproductive to even bother trying to flash 6 before you can do short runs of 5.

Cool tutorial
btw - at the video index - you wrote the multiplex patterns.
i think you made a mistake in the siteswap of the multiplex synch fountain:
6+4+6+4+6+6+2+2=34
34/6= a weird number
the siteswap for this pattern i believe is this:
([44],[44])(4,4)
