If you actually bother to read Karl Marx, he was scathing about poor countries with no democracy or human rights (Russia and China) adopting communism. He knew only the richest most advanced countries could finance socialism and protect human rights and liberty. All this cold war talk of Communism being a global threat, started with Stalin.
