Este cantante es barítono , no es ni tan solo un tenor dramàtico , su voz no tiene el brillo carcterístico de tenor . No sé como se atreve a interpretar Werther , que escuche a Krauss.

Cari Tedeschi, la musica è uguale all'amore, voi purtroppo non avete grande pratica in Amore. Da voi in Germania funziona tutto con la testa. Ma con la testa si pensa, e non si può amare. Purtroppo non conoscete la differenza delle due cose molto diverse. AMORE=LIEBE...:-)

@unicosono You are correct,.he is also very indulgent (believes his own publicity) and fails miserably as he thins out too much.He would be better singing Leider,though Terfel is the master in that realm.Definitely a baritone.

As a very old opera lover I have heard many, many tenors, this fellow comes close to the top three or four to touch my heart, I go back a long way, believe me Kaufman is the real thing, a great privilege to be able to reach such artistic talent through You Tube, for me a marvellous

If one is used to hearing more conventionally sounding tenors singing this, then it may be necessary to put on fresh ears, so to speak, to fully appreciate Kaufmann's sound. He doesn't sound like anyone else. That doesn't make his approach unauthentic or wrong. I find this and most of what I've heard him do recently absolutely extraordinary, from lieder, to Siegmund, to Cavaradossi.........very special artist.

He is the most sought after singer in the world. He thrills audiences everywhere he goes. You may think he is not good - that is your opinion. I am a professional singer and I have my opinion. But you seem to have a vendetta against him which shows that you are ignorant.

@nicco47 Wow - I haven't been called a pompous old cougar for at least . . . a while. I actually am a professional singer and I invite you visit my channel. If you come to just bash me don't bother. You might be surprised. And just so you know i am approaching 65 which is quite an old age for a soprano - of course I have lost my top, but I still get paid and people seem to enjoy my singing. There are always those who won't - but you can't please everyone.
