  • I'd love to learn mandolin, but my fingers are just too damn big for the little bastards

  • @Glockenator octave mandolin or mandola. Got more options than not

  • Great demo, thanks, and you are NOT an idiot.

  • he had me sold in the first few chords. even if i dont use it as my main instrument on stage it will be perfect for recording. so chimey.

  • cool demo , i smiled all the way thru .. you sold me .. i want one .. not an over the top pushy guy .. just a guy talkin to you like a buddy in your livin room ..

  • It uses electric mandolin strings--pairs of strings, low to high, in gauges such as 035, 024, 015, & 012. At lease that's what I have on mine.

  • @TheTruthRocks Aha. Thanks for the info.

  • "im an idiot but im also a guitar player" lol^^

  • lol, does that mean "guitard"?

  • I'd like to hear one with reverb playing a surf tune ;o)#

  • What kind of strings go on it? Special mandolin strings?

  • Its the William Tell Overture By Rossini, use as the Theme for The Lone Ranger

  • what's that song at 1:02? i've never heard it.

    ....just kidding.

  • i think its kanye west..............or not

  • It's my achy brakey heart by the beach boys

  • Little beaty with a sweet voice. Really nice Lucy In The Sky With Dianonds!

    Sweet Gnomish Telecaster ;o)#

  • It is the William Tell Overture by Rossini.

  • its william tell

  • its called vampire beach

  • supermullet I could be wrong but i believe that is the theme to the old lone ranger tv show. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but damn it's been 25 years since I heard that.

  • cool

  • whats the song at 1:30????

  • hes still playing Lucy in the sky with diamonds

  • That song he plays in the beginning is Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, right?

  • Yeah. Just after he says "I've got some tremolo on the amp.."

  • não é uma guitara ruim em absoluto. mas como parece uma tonante.

  • it looks good, sounds good and for only 300 big ones. any complaints about it before I spend my savings on it?

  • for the price its a deal!

if your willing to spend some more try the Godin A8

best sounding electric mandolin ive ever heard!

  • I love Wendell!!! Rock it bro, that little Tele sounds so killer! Great design again Mike.

  • get out, this is a demo of the instrument, not a showoff.

  • bah, why won't the thumbs show up so I can rate down this garbage?

  • Warren Ellis, a string player out of Australia, has been using a Mandocaster extensively with pretty heavy distortion.

    Personally, I love the sound.

  • Warren is a madman.

  • I just saw Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Montreal and watching Ellis' Mandocaster made me want one so bad... He really uses it with a wicked distortion and it sounds like nothing else. I want one.

  • Yeah, I read there is a 5-string version. I wonder if there are pick-up upgrades. The pick-ups on a mandolin are smaller than a guitar; does someone make pick-up upgrades for the mandolin?

  • You have a couple of choices. You can either have a good guitar repair man alter a set of stock pickups or you can have them built by a pickup maker. It really shouldn't cost too much...

  • Isn't telecaster neck pickups smaller? they might fit...

  • I love it! Do you make a ukelele? a "ukecaster": I would be so interested...

  • why dont you tell us how much it is? pish! ripoff

  • $299

  • Got a Eastwood mandocaster about a week ago love it! I also have a Epiphone mandobird. If I had to choose between the two it would be like asking a guitar player what he likes best his Les Paul or Stratocaster.

  • Yeah I just finished tabbing out the intro, if anyone wants it e-mail me at ilikejelly6 (at) hotmail (dot) com. or just message me on youtube. If anyone knows the chords that come next, tell me please!

  • pretty cool. do they make a five string version? (ill check the website)

  • that would be three less strings...why would you want that?

  • think about it.... if you have a five string then you have a C below the G.... opens a whole new world of voicings and possibilities. five string electric mandolins are not common but have been around for a LONG TIME!

  • do a search for "five string electric mandolin" they are awesome.

  • oh... my... god.... give me the mandolin tabs for Lucy in the sky with diamonds!!!!

  • lol "lets see what rossini has to say about that" I just love this guy.. just wanna hug him. i think i'm going to pick this instrument up. very impressive

  • LOL "we'll see what rossini has to say about that" Great man.. probably will buy one of these b/c of this wicked vid. good playa you are

  • I love that, the look, the sound.

I have 4 mandos so far and this will probably be my next one.

  • LUCY IN THE SKYYY WITH DIAMONDS!!!

  • can you get a tremolo bar for this thing

  • Listen to the sustain. You can go ahead and have lunch

  • This guy kicks ass....

  • He really does and I can't wait to open for him later this month.

  • just got one, amazing! Hes right about the back pickup, its amazing, you can get a real stratocaster surf rock vibe off of this thing. Coolest thing was playing Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds on it!

  • Sounds like there is tremolo on the amp.

  • Gee, you think? Maybe that's why he said "I'm going to take the tremolo off..."

  • Oooo mama, I can't wait until mine come in!

  • GDAE its in 5ths

  • what are you tuning this to D G A E ?

  • east wood is a well know musical instrument maker (to people who know musical instuments) not "random Inc. also $400 is really cheap for an Emando and the epi mandobird while being a good starter instrument really isn't well regarded in "educated" circles.

  • ...thing costs damn near $400 and is made by a random little "Inc.". The Epiphone Mandobird (which has only one humbucker, not 2 singles) is only $250 and is a very reliable company. Do the math people...

  • Correction -- the Eastwood retails at $299, so when comparing the two, the math works out in the Eastwood's favor: for $50 more you get two pickups with a three-position switch, a wider neck, and an adjustable trussrod -- and consistenly better user reviews.
