Archer didn't use UBW in the VN and he killed him SIX times AND he was probably still not at 100% because of the wound Saber inflicted on him. And Saber is the strongest Servant with Rin as her Master, easily outmatching Berserker.

Imo, Archer would have had a chance, if he were in his best condition. And he's got the true Mind's eye(not the fake one Saber and co. possess). I am certain, there would always be a small chance for Archer to get out of the fight victoriously.

Actually, no, UBW is good, but it's not enough to kill Berserker 12 times. Gil was able to do this because he had Enkidu and I'm not sure whether Archer could trace that. Besides, the mana costs for GoB are different.

If Archer had the time, then tracing one of Heracles's weapons (obvious best choice would be his bow or sword, unfortunately he never saw it) and using Nine Lives would have been the best Archer could have done.

@Raron Well, I can understand, but here's how I think he could have won. Like Caladbolg killed him once, if Archer projected B rank weapons and used them as Broken Phantasms ((bumping them all up to A)), he could have beaten Berserker. His evasive skills could have been enough, and also fired them from anywhere around the two. =) That's my take though. o.o

God Hand builds a natural resistance against attacks Berserker once received, combined with his Eye of the Mind/instinct skill. All of Archer's attacks would be basically Broken Phantasms(regardless whether he uses a different sword for every BP or the same everytime). So after the first kill, Berserker should be immune to them. Besides, Archer doesn't have the mana for that. :)

@Raron No, God-Hand builds resistance to one attack used against it. o.o And I'm sure Archer's got more than 1 B-ranked weapon. Proof of the fact it doesn't build over one collective attack is the fact when UBW was used against him originally, it took 5 of his lives all on it's own. Now, given he used it at the beginning of the fight, he could have crushed berserker, before expending most his body in the F/SN fight. o.o

Ha, you underestimate God Hand... See, Broken Phantasm is a bomb. There is no big difference whether he, for example, uses Caladbolg or Hrunting. Berserker basically knows BP after getting hit by it once.
