@markandrach Indeed use your brain. A helicopter equipped with nightvision and infrared cameras cannot record a chinese lantern? A contraption which emits some heat and so would be visible. There have been lots of reports of odd orange lights darting around the sky at great speed. Where wind conditions are near zero.

The media has full on beefed this story up. As someone who lives and works at MOD/RAF St. Athan. All it was, was a glimpse of something passing the helicopter and was very fast. It didn't nearly hit the helicopter and they didn't chase it. They were in the process of landing at the time and it happened while they were hovering above the pad.

Well actually I believe I may have seen them chasing something over Cardiff on the night in question. So I think the idea they didn't give chase is most likely dis-information. Besides if an aircraft nearly causes a fatal collision and fails to identify itself, that could represent a criminal offence. It's their job to investigate possible crime. I mean how did they know it was ET if they didn't investigate this? The dis-information doesn't make sense.
