  • 4 people did not want to be your girl

    lol

  • @animextar97

    That was funny. Thanks.

  • Oh George was indeed a talented Beatle. And all have always been talented in their own way. But I love the George songs interpreted for to have achieved so different and unique songs on of each other, especially during the era of the Beatles. Just so it was a Beatle and great genius and yet calm. :) <3 This song is really cool and fantastic. :)

Oh I love you George and Beatles Forever. <3

  • I love you George!!!!! :)

  • the best cover of carl perkins song, , thanks george

  • Every girl wanted to be his baby. no question ;D

  • why is he using his other gretsch?

  • @eveningside he broke a string early in the concert on his Tennessean. Search for Beatles Live in Paris 65...I can't remember which song. There's about 6 parts to the concert.

  • @kswannie he broke it on twist and shout. peace & love

  • People who criticize (Magymae) are simply those who feel inferior. Laugh yourself to the funny farm, but you'll never even be an iota as awesome as George...and I'm rolling on the floor laughing at you.

  • Please get the lyrics right! I am on the floor laughing!!!!

  • The guy at 0:22 looks like Pat Smear from Nirvana/Foo Fighters.

  • I didn't know this footage existed so whoever you are 'Johnny Beatle', you are a star.

  • I love you so much George RIP

  • The REAL DEAL..!

  • This shows that George was a natural performer. The best!

  • OH YEAH WHAT A TRIP !!!!!!!!!!1:P%$#$"#%2!!!1

  • Will always be the best

  • at that suspended 'from a treeeee' george sounds remarkably like dhani.

  • hi from sunny atherstone warwickshire england, totally agree with your comments No other group to beat the fab four . do you visit the beatle international week in liverpool in august ? It"s a great event , you must try it.

Hare Krishna.

  • even george likes the spotlight sometimes :) (*cough* Paul *cough*)

  • @Live0Laugh0Twilight lol,Ringo too!! (again, *cough* Paul *cough*)

  • I wish I was one of those black and white people.

  • Sorry about that " Sister "....Hope you can find a Country Gentleman, it's a great guitar..

  • the french Beatles concerts were the quitest, the audience didn't cheered that much. For one they could hear what they were playing!

  • This is a gem..., a jewel..., a treasure!! Thanks for share this. I've just discovered this.

  • @Burnzi2 It's a Gretsch I think

  • @ZeppelinClassics Your right brother. It's a Gretsch Country Gentleman. Excellent Guitar....

  • @PublicAnimal99 Sister, actually. ;)

  • mix an English Accent with American Rock and you get a hybrid that the world loved..The Beatles!!!

  • Which guitar is George Harrison using?

  • George was always the best beatle.

  • @SumitNotHuman123 Oh that's just not fair to compare them I believe.

  • A 224:4 ratio of Real People:Crazy people that hav no life

  • this is one of the best performances i've seen of george's

  • kingoma61,

Sorry but Carl Perkins didn't write that song.

This song was written and performed by Rex Griffin around 1940. Rex also recorded the version of "Lovesick Blues" that Hank Williams copied. He also wrote many hits for other artists such as "Just Call Me Lonesome" for Eddy Arnold.

You can do a search on Rex and actually hear him performing his music. Rex was a pioneer of rockabilly and also of modern country music. Give him a listen. I think you will be pleasant pleased.

  • @glipzik

Thanks. I learned something and this Rex Griffin was pretty good for the late 1930s. Did you know that Perkin's recording company told him that rockabilly would not catch on and told him to stick to country music?

  • "Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby" was originally an album track on the 1957 Dance Album by Carl Perkins on Sun Records in Memphis. Carl Perkins was known for his million-selling monster hit from 1956: "Blue Suede Shoes". Perkins also wrote "Honey Don't", "Matchbox", "Sure To Fall", "Movie Magg", "Your True Love", "Daddy Sang Bass" (for Johnny Cash), "So Wrong" (for Patsy Cline), "Silver and Gold" (for Dolly Parton), and the no. 1 smash "Let Me Tell You About Love" (for The Judds).

  • Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby" was a concert staple for The Beatles. They performed it at the Star Club in Hamburg in 1962, at Shea Stadium in 1965, at the Hollywood Bowl, and in Paris, France. They also performed it on the BBC. In 1985, George Harrison performed the song with Carl Perkins on his HBO special which celebrated the 30th anniversary of "Blue Suede Shoes", one of the seminal recordings in rock and roll. The song appeared on Beatles For Sale and on Beatles '65 in the US.

  • Haha, George genius, his voice is always calm and relaxed.

  • pure awesomeness.

  • george + carl perkins = damn amazing rockabilly!

  • What year is this?

  • yeah thats right John and Paul... Step away from the microphone. Its Georges time to shine

  • I am in love with him.

  • john lennon isn't shown individually in this video even a single time. wonder why ?

  • @Lmanyakaa - Funny you should mention that... I watched the Ed Sullivan performances a few weeks ago and noticed there are a couple of songs where the same thing happens... I have no idea what that would mean.

  • Fifty women knocking on my door its not true. There should have eighty:o

  • Just great! I always forget just how good they were live. Go George go!

  • 4 people aren't tryna be George's baby :P

  • Amazing audio quality!

  • An absolute joy to watch!

  • It's just wonderful seeing George Harrison having a great time, the others look like they are enjoying this too. When I saw George's tour in the mid 70's with Ravi Shankar and Billy Preston the spirit was gone. George seemed to loathe the fans by then. I could feel his contempt.

  • I don't think touring was George's favorite thing to do by then. Remember, the last Beatles tour was a disaster.

  • Rockabilly,yeahhh.

  • Comment removed

  • Live, they sound exactly like in the studio. What a great band!

  • George and the big Gretsch ..fuckin awsome!

  • George and the big Gretsch ..fuckin awsome! Back up by John on Rickenbacker's toaster heads chunkin out chords ...

  • George..

    what a good performer... (LLL)

  • I'm pretty much in love with this video...lol

  • He is so adorable here:)

  • Funny how the two most disliked members of The Beatles & The Stones both managed to inveigle themselves into the House of Lords and become aristocracy...What price credentials? And why were none of the others 'honoured'? The weasels.

  • the french public was pretty at the time

  • @ZELIG500 Ahem. Have you ever the song "Piggies"? Or maybe "Something"? How about his influence of Indian music into the Beatles? On top of that, rock solid guitar player who maybe blossomed a bit later than John and Paul, but blossomed nonetheless.

  • @ThingsWeSaidToday

So NOT convinced. "Something"? Pretty hard to spend all that time around the greatest songwriting duo in history and not luck out once or twice. "Something"? Okay. How about "Blue Jay Way"? If I ever had to listen to that again I'd jam a knitting needle through my skull.

  • @ZELIG500 'Fraid you're in the minority pal. Loads more dug him over Carl. who dug him too.Sometimes there is a need for the understated and George does just that perfectly.

  • @Harmonicajello

Try listening to something called Blue Jay Way. It summons the demons and makes me want to stick a knitting needle in one ear and out the other. Best part of Let it Be ... when Macca bitches out George for just being so "understated". He should have given more thought to The Beatles and less to Vindaloo.

  • @ZELIG500 S'pose you just had to be there. "Blue Jay Way " is a bit of its time and you need to have heard it then. Having said that, i reckon it has stood the test of time admirably. It paints a picture of the era very well and gives the listener an aural sketch of those heady days when we thought it would all get better. To the shame us who were there, it didn't. Many think George was the one who came out of The Beatles with most dignity, definitely more than the knighted one.

  • @Harmonicajello

Maybe it's because I took a shit-kicking scalping tickets for the Dark Horse (hoarse) tour ... I never really got over it.

  • @ZELIG500 Well i'm sorry about that. It explains a lot.

  • @ZELIG500 They deserved a better lead player. Who could have replaced him and dealt with McCartney and Lennons bitching. Im a huge beatles fan and respect all 4 of them but all Pauls solo career sucked, John didnt have enough time, Ringo got his hits from George and George had the best solo career. George also had the best songs on abby road and proved he was a better guitarist than Lennon and McCartney on THE END

  • I really like how George did this song! It's better than Carl Perkin's version. He did a nice job! I really like his voice and the guitar!

  • Beatles always stole from the best Long Live Carl Perkins RIP

  • GEORGE ROCK :D <3

  • It is not too often you see Paul and John back playing and not singing.. its must be a nice change.. George is great.

  • Comment removed

  • great live singing voice, unlike pretty much every "singer" today...

  • it sounds better when george sings it <3 george u rock!

  • GEORGE!!! :D So cute asdfghjkl;

  • @ilovegeorgeharrison1 I <3 your username :D

  • @erinmitbaren lol thank you :D

  • i love george voice!

  • "They took some honey, from a tree, dressed it and thayu called it me"

  • for some reason I love this version way more than the original carl perkin's version....they just make it so much livelier and much more fun to listen too!

  • This is the first time I've seen this video featuring George doing what is obvious what he liked most to do. He's really enjoying it, I'm not sure whether Sir Paul is enjoying it. Anyway, beautiful George!!!

  • I look up to him to.

  • George is my hero, i really look up to him <3 R.I.P

  • When I first saw The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show it was love at first sight for George Harrison. Now,46 years later(is it possible it has been that long?) I shamlessly admit that I am still head over heels for George.... Love has no limits in time or space. God Bless you George!

  • @beatlesbesot You're soooo lucky to have been alive to see him then! Haha I'm also head over heels for him and I'm 19 :P I still think he was the handsomest guy to walk the face of the earth and if I had been alive in 1965, I would've been trying to be his baby too ;)

  • And to think some people think the stones were a better band....

    The Beatles Best everyone

    RIP George

  • Love George! Well, i love all of them but George is cutest. I wish i was alive when they all were :(

  • lov e ya george xxxxbabsie x

  • The Beatles are so cool, but George has this thing about him, like mysterious and awesomeness all together, i love him, RIP i wish i could have seen you in person at least once =(

BTW, everyone that leaves a comment in this vid has such cute usernames, like Mrs Harrison or loveydoveybeatles, damn, i feel like home amongst people that share my passion =)

  • OH MY GOD. I Adore his voice he's the cutest and I also love his smile at 0:16 :)

  • agreed, defaintly an amazing voice and by far the cutest. adorable smile as well, a person would have to be barmey (Crazy) to not see that. i still tear up when i think of his death. most heartbreakin day of my life.

  • 1:35 BOM BOM BOM.. bom bom. BOM !!! "VIVA PAUL" o/

  • one of my favourite covers by the fab four

  • Carl Perkins original version was on his "Teen Beat" album released in 1958. The Beatles covered two other songs off that album as well. Matchbox, and Honey Don't.

  • i wanna be his baby.

  • Sorry saorsa64, your just plain wrong. The founding fathers of rock and roll started it all. If it wasn't for them, The Beatles would of been totally different if not non-existant. Just accept the fact that the founding fathers rule. Case closed.

  • The Beatles gave credit to Carl Perkins and Elvis as influences along with records they got off canard ships coming back from the Amereicas. Look at the early songs. You are right.

  • George singing is amazing

  • Musician God's

  • BRAVO BEATLES!

  • The Beatles loved Rockabilly and this video shows it!! Thank god for Elvis, Jerry Lee, Carl Perkins, Johnny cash, Chuck Berry and all the other founding fathers of Rock!! If it wasn't for these great artists the Beatles may have never been!

  • {screetches to a dead stop} I'll give credit where its do, but to go as far as to think that if those other musicians determined whether or not the Beatles would have still been....c'mon, they had alot more influences than that.......they would have still happened......and besides, they actually influenced rock as we know it. imagine metallica, ozzy, or any other rocker with short clean cut elvis hair styles....lol! kudos to ALL founding musicians of rock....including the BEATLES! 8-D

  • You are definitely correct. Anybody who doubts it need only watch The Anthology. They say the same thing in their own words.

  • FANTASTIC. This clip ALONE says why THE BEATLES were and still are THE GREATEST BAND IN THE HISTORY OF ROCK AND ROLL.

  • One thing the French will never be is cool.

  • i love this song lol i have the anthology cd and i listen to this like everyday

  • Haha i use to think this song was sung by Paul, until i saw this video, and i was like, What?...waita...ohhhhhhhhh

    haha now i know

George is the best preformer eva

  • ... I had nineteen dates.

  • @Beatlesrok101

@ :53 George says, "Fore I got home, I had fourteen dates."

  • @ukidinme2010 The song was written by the great Rockabilly artist, Carl Perkins (Blue Suede Shoes), whom the Beatles (especially George) loved (George even sang at Carl's funeral). The Beatles covered quite a few songs in their early years. The artist whom they covered the most was Carl Perkins; that tells you a bit about his influence on them.

  • George, sweet as honey from a tree! I'm sure there really were 19 women knocking on George's door at the time! :)

  • Jammin!!

  • George was bragging shamelesly! :)))

  • absolutly awesome :)
