Sorry but Carl Perkins didn't write that song.

This song was written and performed by Rex Griffin around 1940. Rex also recorded the version of "Lovesick Blues" that Hank Williams copied. He also wrote many hits for other artists such as "Just Call Me Lonesome" for Eddy Arnold.

You can do a search on Rex and actually hear him performing his music. Rex was a pioneer of rockabilly and also of modern country music. Give him a listen. I think you will be pleasant pleased.

Very average guitar player with endless versions of Chet Atkins licks ... very average when compared to the guitar gods of his day. Some of those breaks in the middle eights on those early tracks are just insipid. His Dark Horse tour was an embarrassing flop. My favorite part of Let it Be is where Paul becomes so frustrated with him he can't take it anymore and bitches him out. Paul and John deserved a better lead player.
