Allerdings war sie damals das "scheue Rehlein" an der Seite von Abi. Heute kommt zu ihrer Stimme ihre Persoenlichkeit hinzu. Und man muss ja wirklich fragen, wie alt ist sie jetzt? Ihre Stimme ist nicht gealtert, sondern gereift. So scheint mir das auf jeden Fall aus aus den Videos hier.

The more I watch her perform this song, the more I am convinced that it is not really the song that is killing me, however. I have not really heard of Esther Ofarim before until someone directed me to her in youtube after I posted a message at another version of Bird on a Wire done by a black male soloist inquiring about a female artist who recorded this song sometime in the 70s (?). I first heard Bird on a Wire at a striptease joint sometime in 1976. I went out and bought the album, a 78rpm. The female artist was a young, white Caucasian. I couldn't now remember her name.
