This is highly a mythical and ridiculous speech. I don't support Karunanithi and Sudras who claim to be Tamils but neither can I accept this brahmanic speech. Anthanar is no way identical with Brahman. "Anthanar enbor Aravor" (an Anthanan is an Arhanth or Arahath or Aravanadigal). Tamil is always a caste-ridden and brahamans are no way different from Sudras. All are filthy caste monsters!

Sanskrit and Tamil share an ancient connection and 40 % common vocabulary (EX : Siva/Shiva, Skanda, Kandha etc). I shall personally be most happy(as Siva devotee) if govt. starts the training of entire Tirumurai (with meaning) day and night in all Siva temples.....also translate them in Hindi , English , Malayalam etc.........The "only purpose" of the existence of Brahmin caste is to preserve Vedic chanting (in Vedic period they came from all castes)......

So relax!
