the tattoo i got on my forearm hurt. its a phoenix and it took 2 hours. its black and grey. my very first tattoo on my upper arm didnt hurt at all. its writing and its small. guess it does vary and depend on where and the size etc. my next tattoo i'm getting on the outer side of my arm so im thinking it may hurt also as its on bone but hey, no pain no gain and its well worth it

I have 16 tattooes, and they really aren't that bad.Yeah some of them hurt at first, but it pretty much goes numb after.And it also really depends on the artist tattooing.I personally tattoo,and it really depends on if the artist is new at it, and goes deeper than they should.

my friends a ok tattooist, and i let em tatt up my chest. and i was high as fuck, and the final project came out good. it doesnt really hurt....and i got it on my chest. and im like 120 pounds and 5ft 6. skinny as hell. , you just gotta remind your self it isnt gonna hurt that bad. the pain is bearable. people make tattoos seem like they hurt a shit ton but in all reality they dont hurt that much,the pain is worth the out come. no pain no gain. if there was no paint then its not that special

@Wardey2008 it's really not as bad as you think... run a tack or pin down your side relatively hard.... won't be MUCH worse than that honestly... it hurts anywhere no way to avoid it it's minimal this guy expains it pretty well.

It also depends on the pain threshold of the individual. Everyone experiences physical pain differently, no one is the same as another. So it's really a waste of time asking others how a tattoo feels because you might feel more or less pain than that person :)

His right you know..Tattooing doesn't hurt as much as you might think, notice the only ppl that say tattoos hurt really bad are ppl that don't have any? I personally love the feeling, if you're like, really stressed or wound up, go get a tattoo it might feel like someone just spanked the area you got done like a thousand times when you're done, but other than that you'll feel like a'million bucks :)

You also have to remember that the intense pain that comes with getting a tattoo stops once the tattoo is done. After that, you just feel a bit sore, and the skin feels a bit sunburnt.
