But the art is also about experimentation and his concepts are not cut and dry. Modern photography, especially with digital cameras, requires a lot of creativity...and some might contradict his fundamentals.
At the end of the video ...This is an Portrait Artist. However, Photoshop "photographers" may claim they can fix the eyes later in the computer. Even they may change the eye's color (what a joke of the new Digital "photographers".
Everyone seriously dedicated to photography should memorize all the words of this "old Fellow". This guy is among the best in the internet!!!

One thing positive with regards to the soft or shoot-through umbrella is that you can move it closer in to the subject.

He is talking about the constriction and dilation of the PUPIL.
If you're going to be a pedant at least get your facts right.
