Noir Nation is looking for art like this for its second issue. Whole graphic stories. Please see the submission guidelines at noirnation [.] com (no w w w) or see the videos here on You tube. We pay!
I liked this film. I like to read noir and found there is also a video "Noir Naiton" here on Youtube that looks cool, looks like they publish Graphic novels as well, and will reach the e-pub audience on Kindles, Nook, iPads etc. Their Facebook page looks cool, too.
Ideally, I would have liked it to run for longer but we just didn't have the time. With it being a college project, we had deadlines to meet so it wasn't possible.
I'm glad you like it though, its why we do it :)
Keep your eyes peeled for our next video which is being shot soon!!
The sequence with the girl smoking was done by printing the sequence out into individual frames (at 24fps), which works out at around 120 individual frames. Once printed out, they were screwed up, ripped up and sellotaped back together and dripped paint on. Once all the frames were done, they were re-scanned back into Avid, and put back into sequence.
How films like this are not viewed more than 1000 times a day, I don't know. But animation of this caliber and intelligence is highly underrated. I really enjoyed this short piece :-) Not only being a rotoscope fan of animation but also a film noir-addict. Five stars for sure.

Kick ass film... It's a pity it's so short, but I know that this is a ton of work. Good voice-over, too.

There's more to film noir than being depressing
DrFeelRotten 1 year ago
@DrFeelRotten It doesn't say any where on the video or description that it should be.
But i'm sure if you do some research on the genre, it is true to most of the codes and conventions.
Thank you for the comment though, they are always appreciated, positive or negative.

Fantastic!
But with one minor fault - You forgot to credit the songwriter (even if it's just a simple tune).
What's the song anyway?
