i've seen a storm much worse than this and it was freakin awesome.....the only down side to that experience is that i was on my boat fishing 3 miles out in the ocean, i'm from new jersey and when it gets stormy the ocean gets really nasty and at the time i owned a 14 foot aluminum jon boat with a 9.8 hp tohatsu outboard hahaha imagine how slow that thing was in that weather....after that trip i got a much bigger salt water boat
Visiting friends in Tuscon, AZ they get lightning storms with rain on the mountains, amazing to watch, sheets of lightning lighting the sky! That area is so active, the university and government have atmosphereic research centers there to study it.
The storms come in late in the day and cool off the air just enough to make for a pleasant night, and then they're gone. The desert is pretty incredible like that.
What a great thunderstorm! I had one on 26th of May 2009 and that was the same as in this great vid. I also had alot of wind in that storm the wind was like crazy.
I love watching storms. That's one of the things I miss most about living in the country when I was a kid: our front porch and watching storms with my dad. My dad's gone now and I live in an apartment. I'll be back in a house again though some day, and I'll be sure it has a front porch! Thanks for this video...it's great to watch.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I just posted a video of a storm from a couple days ago and it's just not the same as it was filmed from an apartment this time, not from my old house. :-(
Yeah, I understand. It's really hard to watch a storm from my apartment, even though I have a balcony and covered walkway. Because so much of the skyline is covered up by all of the other buildings. Every direction you look, there's a 3 story building.
I lived in Singapore. rains like this are quite common, it happens like once or twice every month sometimes thrice. There is also raining season happen between nov and dec, and we will have heavy downpour almost every day and it will last for a month.
I've never been to Singapore but I hear it's just beautiful. Closest I ever got to your weather was Vietnam and thank you, but no. Monsoons are awful. Everything gets moldy and muddy! :-) We don't have much rain here, but we make up for it with snow and blizzards!
I thought everyone in Australia lived 'outback' where it was always dry - where the scorpions roam by night and funnel web spiders play by day! :-) (just kidding!)
I am from the UK and we never, ever have any storms like that. Your video makes me feel like I'm actually there. I would love to experience the feeling of the pitch black and the outside, with that storm going on.
I'm sorry you've never experienced a thriller like this one. Be thankful for the animals' sake though - they sure hate it and it's life threatening for little babies who can die from fright. Fun for us though, isn't it?
Thanks - I love it too. This storm was more soothing than frightening because most of the thunder sounds were the rolling booms, not the loud cracks of lightning bolts striking earth. Next time I'll try to film a gentle rain storm just for the sound of the rain.
I dont now but im very scared of lightning sound, its just so creppy, I cant sleep or i just hide in bathroom and singing LA LA LA LA to dont hear it..im so scared of storms but i love rain.
In slovenia we have hail VERY BIG HAIL and the storm which was going outside..i just though it would be better to do suicide lol.. i really hate lightning beacuse it think the bolt will hit me and i will die :S
I'm lucky here that we normally don't have hail and when we do it is usually pretty small. I feel bad for the animals outside who have to endure that pounding. Believe me, you're not alone in your fear of lightning - my dogs hate it. They tremble and huddle around my feet. I try to act like all is okay and comfort them, but they don't care! I wish there was a 'quick fix' for all of you. :-(
Thanks - I never realized, when I filmed this, that so many people love thunderstorms. I've got a new surround sound (6-channel) mic set so I'm ready for this summer's best!
I'm on the west side of town in St Louis Park. The weather kids all said the west side of town got mostly sound and fury while the worst of the storm was on the north side. Was a great storm, wasn't it?
I had a thunder storm and i saw weird floresent lights flash for 10 seconds.
