Man!! How heavy that equipment is going to be? I have a bushcraft gear with only the essentials and its pretty heavy, about 20 kg (44 pounds). I wonder how heavy is the gear in these 4 videos?
If you don't want to carry around a small vacume, you can get a similar effect (at least with cloths) by filling a heavy duty zip lock bag, sitting on the bag, and while sitting on it, zipping it back up. Take care not to over-fill though, because it will break if you do.
I have the same vacuum system as you do, however, i put ammo in the socks. I put around 5-7 socks with 10 rounds of 7.62x54r in each sock and still had some room for a couple stripper clips.
Got me a pack mate vac sealer & decored a whole roll of tp &shrunk that baby down to less than half inch thick & same with 20 serving size of oatmeal then with 3 seperaterate zip bags,i added trail mix to one, cinnamon with sugar to another, & dehydrated banana chips to the 3rd so i can change the menu from one main ingredient,...I takes up no room in my ruck all about half inch thick,.. Great vid & excellent quality,..What do you use for a camera ??? Very impressive...
thx for all the vids, you explained all of the items very well...i had already had feild gear before i watched this and i was going in the completly opposite direction, so thx again
Thanks for the compliments. I plan on touching on these subjects a little more in the future. This was my first attempt at this type of series. Thanks
YouTubers! If this is the 1st time you've watched a vid from Iraqveteran8888 I want to highly recommend to you that he has TONS of EXCELLENT vids that you should also check out! Especially if you enjoy guns. Lots of awsome tips on older and new guns too! Check them out, you wont be sorry! His vids are very cool and informative!
Great series so far. Keep it up. I've been planning my gear kit for the last year or so... buying as I can. Good to know someone thinks the same way I do. I've got to check out that Reynold's vacuum system... never seen that before!
in regard to maps you can go to the county you live in and get highly detailed topographical maps of your surrounding areas that include water sources and other land features that can be used in your favor.
remember if the SHTF than you will have the advantage of knowing your territory the zombie invasion or whoever won't.
The majority of people are going to need and go out and practice how to orienteer from one point to another and practice getting to places tehy cannot see using a compass.
thanks so much for giveing your time and knowledge you could have gone huntin or fishin or spent time with your family but you care for the welfare of me and my family and my patriot family and y.t. family this is what i was taught also its army values thank you much for the integrity and welfare of others first hooah we appreciate you
The 100 yrd pace is a great idea. I remember years ago vacuum sealing with a zip-lock bag and a straw. Not as tight as the vacuum unit, but works in a pinch and helps with space and packing.
Finding good concealed places to stash necessities in the perimeter and outlying areas is good preperation as well.
As a serious backpacker I recommend utilizing available outdoor gear stores, i.e. Backwoods, Campmoor. etc. lots of good info and products there as well. Lots of ultra light technologies.
I must add one thing if you need to establish a Pace Count. Obtain your pace count over Medium to Rough Terrain. Anywhere you need a pace count for land navigation is not going to be over nice, smooth terrain. A flat-ground pace count will be as much as 25 yards Off from a rough terrain count.
I don't recall you mentioning this but should you bring a small portable radio perhaps? Maybe one that you crank to get power (also use battery's) to get info and stuff? I do have one and works quite well.
Yeah I know....It helps to have some smooth and flat like either (I'm thinking in terms of an outdoor situation) a large rock, cutting board, or similar.
one thing I think you forgot to include is a good knife. I think thats one of the most important things for survival is a good knife. hey thanks man for all of your videos I've learned alot and I have watched every single one of your videos and I really enjoy them. this is my favorite channel by far. keep up the good work! and happy holidays

What about water purification? Maybe I missed it?
jceason 2 years ago
I did not discuss water purification in these videos, but it will be covered in the near future.
We are moving onto to some practical application, game getting, and other field basics soon.
I just wanted to familiarize everyone with the type of gear they can expect to see.

Getting to it silver...this is the crawl phase...
I hate to use Army lingo, but I want people basically familiar with this equipment before moving onto running around with gear and shooting things

This surviving video serie brings slightly back the army training of surviving and guerilla tactics to my mind.

More to come...We are going to move on to the walk phase very soon.
This particular series is to famliarize those that don't know much about this stuff.

Will do!!!!!
They are easy as pie. I'll go by the Police store and see what a can of CS gas costs.
If I'm making a gas mask video, it has to be interesting!
