I went to a cdl school where training is done in automatics. Got my license and started driving as a casual. The equipment was cabbies without power steering. The only experience I had driving a stick was my own car and the truck a drove in the 70's. I was adequately trained. After three accidents I was fired. All involved close quarter ops in dock areas. OH well. Still driving though.
Doesn't mean, if you get your CDL. Doesn't mean, you will get a job, especially if you attend a school and your paying for yourself. Best way is, do it with a company if you can.
ok i wasnt to clear on it i live in michigan an im looking to get my cdl do i need to go to the schools or if i can get this job were they i can be trained by a smaller company on how to drive all the good things of air brakes an shiftin reading gauges all the fun lil things i can just go take my gk test then my road test an get my cdl ??
i took my CDL permit test back in May of 07 and we are in August of 08 i plan to take it again when i get a chance i got 19 wrong when taking the test i kind of did rush so i agree with you on not rushing i went to a web site which was like a multiple choice questionaire and i thought that was going to be on the actual test only to see that they switch the test up you should have heard me talking to my self like ahhh man dam lol
Very interesting info..Though I havent done "all" my homework..I have yet to hear about a company over here that takes rookies in and trains them. They all seem to want ppl with "licences and atleast 2 yrs experience".$2500 to get a semi licence but hard to get a company to give you a start driving.****
You want better lighting? If you want a tad bit better light get a little light "lamp" or "even a silver clamp light" from home depo.. for 10 bucks. The key thing is to bounce the light off the back "WHITE" wall behind your computer screen. That way its coming right at your face directly but its not harsh because its bounced off the back wall it will be "SOFT" light. I am a photographer so I know.

@Pyramidtank I think it all depends on what it was and who you want to work for. I'm not really up on it for sure.

There are companies lining up for drivers here! Of course they want you to do things their way!
The better jobs require experience! Thanks!
