I remember that day so clearly. It had been a sunny day up until about five minutes before Mr Brown made that speech. Then it turned cloudy and cold as he spoke those words. A more gracious resignation speech could not have been given. Gordon Brown is a man with his priorities sorted. Family and country above all else. A genuinely great man. I just wish I could say the same for his successor.
