ABRSM Grade 3 2009-10 C:1 San - Tell You

Results are in and my marks for this piece were 26/30 which I was fairly ok with.

I am slight confused as to pedal use in this piece and the marking 'con Ped' at the beginning. Clearly there are rests in this piece and yet some people I have read on the internet say 'just hold the pedal down all the way through. The CD which comes with the Grade 3 book does sound as though there is a lot of pedal use but in your video you can clearly hear the rests. Can you elaborate on pedal use in this particular piece please. I'm teaching myself and am doing exam at thendd of March.

how to use pedal in this piece? or without pedal is alright?

@smiaeiwchan you start with the pedal (the sustain pedal) on the second line and hold it down for the rest of the song.

i started to do this piece and then changed to top cat.

i really coulnd't get into it and it's a shame because it's actually quite nice, i just found it REALLY hard to play!

This piano is such a heavy one I prefer the lighter grand pianos and the heavy one makes this piece sound horrible otherwise its an excellent piece with more melodic shape and contrast of dynamics very well done anyway

it's just slow
