The other thing too that can change performence.....what fuel do you both run....I run on BP Ultimate...I find I get a good mix of power and economy....I find vortex I get less economy but better performence....some people choose to run on low octane fuel or even god dred it E10. Other factors is tyre size....205s will weigh a tad less the 225s.....not a great deal per tyre x 5 counting spare tyre assuming one has it in their car during doing the runs it can all make a difference.....I have mine
I know that the ED XR6s auto/manual are rated apparently to mid to low 15s in quarter mile times....now id expect in some regards an auto to be better at dragging but I may be wrong on that dont quote me.....but I will say my brothers manual ED XR6 with pace maker extractors and luckey exhaust high flow cat ...is neck and neck with me.Neither one gains or pulls away now that being said both of us suspect his is due for a tune.Not certain but it may need a tune my gear box needs TLC big time so.
yeah my auto gets 7.5 which is interesting......its identically as fast as my brothers manual ED XR6 and he has pacemaker extractors and a 2.5 inch luckey exhaust......that being said he is in need of a tune. But ive got scanned pictures of a comparo between EBII XR6 and VP SS V6....long story short the EB got 0-100 in 7.2 seconds with 2 peeps in it and a full tank of low octane fuel. back in 1992
well, this one used to be an auto before it it got the old conversion. it used to do about 8-8.5 to 100. Its definately faster now, but with the manual its harder to consistently launch and change well (as shown by the vid, a bit rough:P).
Another thing though, is you can't rely on the speedo. As an auto it used to be about 5% off, now it's more like 10%
Well its interesting you say that cause manuals wern't 100% accurate in the day either....and you could dispute anyones 0-100 by the factor you've mentioned....how do we truly know whether someone's speedo is accurate or not?.....mine feels accurate....by gauging where I am in relation to how other traffic are moving....I know that isn't an accurate way to test it but what is?.....cops dont do speedo checks anymore.....sat navs are known to be wrong
yeah ive just compared it to other cars, and the speedo checks that are around on the freeway. The ba's and b'fs seemed to read correctly and ed was 10% lower than those. They even installed one of those speed checker boxes near my house cause of roadworks and its 10% off there too. The sprint too is about the same as my car was when it was an auto so i'd assume around 5% off too. The manual gearbox probably has the wrong speedo sender in it, should get a new one:P
ahh ok interesting.....just cause you get about 95-100 out of 2nd gear which is what my bros (soon to be mine) ED XR6 Manual gets were just running pacemaker extracters and a 3 inch tip....has got a great sound tho :) you can find it under red stocket rocket but in the vid we dont do anything amazing :)

If you can afford it.....run on 98 give ya self a tank or 2 of it...then try a performence run....I reckin you will find quite a performence gain.
