  • He says "Nothing you need to worry about.Gordon, go ahead" not "Nothing you need to worry about, Gordon.Go ahead."

  • ITS GORDON!!! NOT GORDAN!!

GORDON FREEMAN GORDON FREEMAN!! STOP SAYING GORDAN!!

  • there is probaly another scientist called gordan... and he is curious about seeing the gordan freeman in the chamber...

  • Thats the scientist you dumbasses

  • This doesnt make any sense sense at all. If gordan DID talk why would he ask: What is he doing in there?

  • "Gordon! Get away from the- shutting down"

    "No!"

    "Attempting shut-down". xD

  • I tried it myself and heard it.

  • not freeman dummy

  • Thats not in game, The audio has been edited. Ive never even heard that voice until now which means that its an audio clip that isnt even from the same game.

  • gordon say NO at 0:18 but but listen carefully

  • i think i hear he said "Let me out!" at 0:13

  • @mp5rock no he says "Oh Dear!"

  • *facepalm*

no its NOT gordon talking. i make half life 1 levels and mods so i mess around with the sound files ALOT, and the sound were he says "whats he doing in there" is under the "scientist" category. there are no moments were freeman talks.

  • @38supernova Freeman is a scientist....but your're right though....there are no moments where he talks....this video is just some hope that he talks

  • This makes no sense at all. Gordon Freeman was in the chamber and the person over the intercom said that. Besides how random is it to have Gordon Freeman only talk for like 3 seconds of the game. Moreover it could be a character with a similarly sounding name.

  • Nope.

  • Why would he refer to himself as He?

  • @Nathanielhillis Heman, of course!

  • @TeegeeLOL It isnt gordan. its a scientist talking over the intercom.

  • @Nathanielhillis Oh wow clearly somebody dosen't know Heman, the warrior. He refer himself as he because he is Heman.

  • @TeegeeLOL You mean, "He-Man?"

  • It's been confirmed it's not him.

  • He actually says what is he doing IN there

  • asshole scientist A: What is he doing in there?

asshole scientist B: hey, gordon, don't worry about asshole A, it's nothing you need to worry about

    gordon freeman: _____________

Seriously, who do you think "he" is in asshole A's statement? PRO TIP IT'S GORDON

  • Dammit Gordon sounds like one of those boneheads too?

  • GORDEN FREEMAN: NO.

  • He dose'nt talk. Sorry but he dose'nt. :P That was a random scientist say "What is he doing in there?" And he told gordon that he did'nt need to worry because gordon thoght that he might be doing something wrong, And he might cause a accident. :) Unless you have any other suggestions other than "OMG GORDON TALKED LOLOLOLOL" Than I wouldnt be talking.

  • It might have been a part of a soundtrack, but when Gordon entered the Xen for the first time and saw only 3 rocks floating in the middle of nowhere you can hear "Oh my god" if you listen very closely.

  • @nejckra I did it with full volume with headphones and didn't hear it. Note: I started at lambda core to not hear all the "POWER LEVEL" shit.

  • valve has said gordon has spoken at least twice, in game. this might be one of them

  • @Defuntilheard Funny thing there are 2 pain noises where he grunts.

  • The SCIENTIST says what is he doin' in there? not Up there.....

  • HL source.

  • The corresponding audio file thats supposed to be gordons voice is \Valve\valve\sound\scientist\c1a0_sci_dis13a.wav

and it could be gordon, but i personally doubt it. gonna take a look at it with noclip

  • @guiltyguildleader And I note that the sci means scientist

  • @TheIanDX dude you proved yourself wrong because the person who said what is he doing in there said HE gordon wouldnt refer to himself as he and he was saying nothing you need to worry about gordon because gordon heard it and the scientist didnt want him to know that he shouldnt be doing that

  • He didnt talk that was a scientist up in the observation area possibly dr kliener i know this because Gordan cant talk the suit disabled that if you pay attention when you put it on

  • exactly i agree with nachtara1000, a scientist asks another.. "what is he doing in there." then, the second scientist replies to the first, "nothing you need to worry about." then that same scientist continues to say to gordon, "gordon go ahead."

  • The window is too small for Gordon to even see what anyone is doing up there. Your logic has exploded.

  • Y U PEOPLE DISLIKE

  • fake fake fake. you cutted some of the audio out so it sounds like he was talking to gordon.

  • its a scientist who talks you moron

  • It's the same person speaking twice. He asks "What is he doing in there?" but not referring to Gordon, but he realizes at that point that Freeman can hear him speaking, and reassures him with, "nothing you need to worry about, Gordon."

  • when its loading press the down arrow-enjoy playing snake

  • the only sound that gordon makes was breathing when he was transported to many places in the test chamber.

  • Its not gordon. The same guy talks about shutdown. Also, a part was cut.

  • Gordon said- ''what is he doing in there'' (on the control room)

probably talking about a scientst that he hates

    and the other scientst said-

'' nothing to worry about gordon''

so he could focus on the experiment

  • @cloacts He hates him because he's ON THE LIST! But, seriously, that's not Gordon talking.

  • Comment removed

  • random guy asks what is he doing in there seeing the scientist messing hitting the mic scientists think gor don asks so say "nothing you need to worry about gordon"

  • Besides, we all know he sounds like Morgan Freeman.

  • @Boredpersons55 no he doesn´t he sounds like ross scott

  • Its another scientist asking "What is gordon doing in there?" which the other scientist replies "There's nothing to worry about" because, in the first quote asking that question would probably worry.

  • I bet he was talking to Gordon FROHman

  • your points are valid... but side with EJRocky, if it was freeman then why wouldnt he talk at any other point in the game? so he just talks at the one part in the beginning? and then In the credits why isnt there a voice actor listed for freeman?

  • you have a good point but it isnt freeman

  • Yes. Freeman talks in this...

He wouldn't be known as a silent protagonist if he DID speak. Therefore, this video is invalid.

  • YOU IDIOTS! Gorden CAN talk. he just never had anything interesting or was too busy being interupted to say anything...

  • If you pay attention in Episode 2, When you have that brief talk with Eli befor going to battle the Striders, Eli mentions he should of pulled Gordon from the test chamber and not of commited to the experiment, which enforced the resonance cascade. Practicaly, who your hearing is most likely Eli, questioning why Gordon is in the chamber. Being this, We all should know Gordon, Eli and Isaac (Kleiner) All worked and knew eachother back in Black Mesa.

  • it sounded like breen kinda

  • I don't think that it's Gordon saying "What is he doing in there?" but around about 0:13 It sounds like someone said "Pull me up!" before the scientist tells Gordon to get away.

  • Freeman's Mind is the real voice of Gordon Freeman! :D

  • Gordons voice box died in the incident. THERE

  • HAX!

  • You have a compelling theory. Though I would be more inclined to attribute the echo in the test chamber to the PA System.

  • After listening to that a couple times.. it does sound like gordon IS talking cause theres a difference in the tones around than on the intercom AND the fact of how the scientist is talking. hes like nothing YOU need to worry about, gordon. cause thats how the sentence stops. if he went nothing you need to worry about. now gordon i need. then hed be talking to someone IN the room with him instead of over the intercom

  • gordon freeman didnt say that

    it was......

    CHUCK NORRIS!

  • The least you can do is call this a theory instead of being so stubborn about it.

  • YOU JUMPED INTO THE BEAM!!!! WERE ALL GONNA DIE!!! THE SAIVIOUR OF EARTH JUMPED INTO THE BEAM!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

  • he said "he" not "i" case closed... its false.

  • in half life two the only vocalization you hear from gordon is when you step into a fire pit, he grunts

  • but the scientest does say "nothing you need to worry about, gordon" so he is refering to gordon, as if replying to something he said, I mean, if a random scientist said, "what is he doing in there", then why did he refer to him as "gordon"? anyone else notice this?

  • @loopy094 That has been my case and point. Although some have good rebuttals, I've found that at least 100/205 Youtubers don't know how to have free thought, or just read the title and immediately make a retarded comment.

  • @rockcabbage its easy to believe i mean.. what they say is common conversation. you talk someone replies.

  • @rockcabbage It isn't Gordon.

  • @rockcabbage the scientist is talking to another, and he says "what is he doing in there" and the other says "nothing you need to worry about gordon" like hes saying, dont pay attention to us gordon, just keep working.

  • @rockcabbage Wait, the name "rockcabbage" sounds familiar to me, do you play tf2?

  • @darkshadow9581 Yessir I do, rather frequently may I add. I'm the only person I know of with the username Rockcabbage, so it probably was me.

  • @rockcabbage I saw your profile picture on youtube, the same one used ingame, I did see you, as the admin of TMT Stability Test map for TF2. I saw you in there when I was DarkenedShadows (the n00b).

  • @loopy094 no what is was is this, A random scientist up there with kliener (I think?) said what is he doing in there? meaning what is gordon doing in the chamber, kliener worries that gordon would be worried by this statement (because the chamber is a dangerous place thats why the scientist said what is he doing in there?)

so kliener reassures him that the other scientist was wrong to say something like that so gordon wouldnt worry.

  • @loopy094 What I always assumed is that the scientist that said "Nothing you need to worry about, Gordon" is specking to gordon and is trying to avoid the other conversation. But that's just me...

  • @loopy094 and why wouldnt the scientist know about the project?

  • @loopy094 A random scientist entered the room and said : "What is he doing down there?" and the scientist managing the operation said to Gordon down in the big room "Nothing to worry about, Gordon". He said that because this is after all a risky operation and the main character needs to know less about it.

  • @loopy094

its a full first person experience, you need to imagine him talking, instead listening a voice ..

same goes to Calhoun and Shephard

  • @loopy094 because someone objected to what someone else thought gordon was doing that was (wrong), so the scientist was reassuring gordon that he was not doing anything wrong.

  • I don't really care about if he talks or not, I just eatch Freemans Mind to know what he is thinking at what time. "I Am Gordon Freeman, Captain Of The Intergalactic House Of Pancakes!"

  • @833nirassi the voice of freemans mind should be freemans voice in-game!!!

  • @833nirassi LOL i watch freemans mind too

  • HAHAHAHAHA you fail

  • it was a scientist saying " what is he doing in there" not "up there" so it is not gordon talking

  • If he was going to talk wouldnt he do it more then once in the whole game?

  • lies u dumb

  • your so dumb and

  • If thats gordon talking i am the queen of switzerville (i'm a man).

  • You guys are IDIOTS. Clearly it was Gordon. He says: "what is he doing in there?" To which the scientist says: :Nothing you need to worry about Gordon." HE COMES RIGHT OUT AND DIRECTLY REPLIES TO HIM!!!

  • @TheIanDX no, that was just another sciantist

  • That's G-man or you can call him Gordon's creepy stalker.

  • I would say it´s real because I never heard an Scientist with such voice ..

  • who is the scientist that says : "nothing you need to worry about gordon, go ahead.." it seems like he wanted the cascade to happen lol :P

  • why would he ask that? He can't see any of the scientist in the control room!

  • for those of you who dont think he talked.heres some proof.1)his voice is the first in this vid (2)notcie how you dont ever here another guy that sounds like that?even close? there is proof to you people who dont think he talks.its not much proof but its still good proof.man i feel like im 50 for talking like this XD

  • @snowball862 your stupid man

  • It's "nothing you need to worry about, Gordon *hehehm* go ahead" they just didn't space it correctly.

  • if you really wanna hear gordon talk then watch freemans mind

  • omg he Does talk After he said What are you doing in there The Sientest said NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT GORDON Thats some proof

  • It sounds like the guy from freeman's mind. XD

  • Its, "What is he doing in there?"

Referencing Gordon in the test chamber.

  • If Valve says Gordon never spoke in HL, he never did. Period. I never presumed this could be Gordon. The sound is too loud for it to be heard this clearly in a big chamber and it sounds as if it came from a speaker. But Gordon is NOT a mute, he accepted the job offer from Black Mesa on the phone.

  • The guy who does the voice of the scientists is Hal Robbins, the venerable Dr Howland Owll of the Church of the Subgenius.

He's an oldtime friend of my father and came over once or twice when I was a little kid. He always wore an immaculate three piece suit and ponytail and he TALKS JUST LIKE THIS. He can even ad lib the science-y sounding stuff off the cuff.

  • Gordon's isn't mute. But, he is a men of few words. It's stupid! (the movie of curse)

  • Gordon must of felt something might go wrong ( After all the machine IS running at %105 and Dr. Rosenberg said in decay it's only supposed to run at %80 or lower ) so he delays putting the sample in. A scientist wants to know what he is doing in there. ( All three of them have to monitor the equipment so they can barley see what's in the chamber ) One of the other scientists reassured him that there is nothing to worry about and everything will go fine.

  • Developers dont make gordon talk so you can do like you are gordon freeman.

  • @Shadic67 thank god they did that, or else there wouldnt be "Freemans mind"

  • @MrTrollslayer1996 Haha yeah I love it.

  • No...Gordons first words were:I..Pwn...You...Weeth..Crowbar...Bitch...

  • if it wasnt gordan then why did the scientist reply with "nothing you need to know GORDAN"

  • @RetardinHarvard at least you were being honest when you picked your name

  • @VidyaShow sweet?

  • You Noob lol

  • All I hear is a scientist yelling "Oh Dear!"

  • @EviLMuska no read the caption bubble thing. he thinks the person who said "what is he dooing in there?" is Gordon.

  • @krazzydrake I read the bubble, I'm saying that's not what I heard. Even after listening to it multiple times I don't hear near enough words for it to be an entire sentence of dialog.

  • besides that, the scientist says "What is he doing INNNNNN there?" NOT: "up there?"

    in doesn't sound like up

  • It says: "Nothing you need to worry ABOUT gordon"

NOT: "Nothing you need to worry about, gordon"

gordon is mute, there's no voice actor for him, source? Credits

  • I also noticed why Gordon Freeman doesn't talk on FVOX Folder i found a H.E.V. Sound that saying "Voice System Deactivated" Thumbs up if you agree

  • Scientist1 : What is he (gordon) doing in there? (crystal room)

Scientist 2: Nothing to worry about gordon..

  • awesome i didnt know that MR. Freeman talked XP

  • This is nothing new (that Gordons a mute). People asking about proof? How dumb can you get when you have EP2 as perfect proof (among many other scenarios in the game). A few minutes into the game, when you first encounter the Hunter on the roof of that barn or something... anyways Alyx asks me (Gordon...) did i hear anyhing - i not only heard the Hunter but i also saw it on the roof so if Gordon could speak hed prolly warn her... no?

  • @LiezAllLiez technically Gprdon can speak but he dosn't speek in the game so as they player can project his or hers thought's and feelings on what ever situation that poor Gordon get's tosted into by the crule and sadistic hand of fate.

  • Personally, I don't think it was Gordon. It sounded more like one random scientist said "what is he doing in there?" referencing Gordon in the room. The intercom was on, so the scientist assumed Gordon must have heard that, and thus told Gordon it was nothing he should worry about.

  • @EJRocky agreed these ppl r just dumb its clearly said ove rthe intercom

  • @EJRocky

That's it. No 'P' is heard in that entire dialogue frame.

  • @EJRocky Yes, this is actually what happened. Im pretty sure gordon sometime in his past became mute or some shit like that.

  • @EJRocky that makes no sense. when you reply to a friend, when someone asks you what are you doing, and another friend is standing next to you, do you reply to your friend whil saing your other friends name? where is the logic in that? if that was a scientest I do not think the producers would make him say gordon at the end. again, I say, NO FUCKING LOGIC.

  • "What is he doing IN there?" -Scientist

  • bullshit

  • It's not Gordon. It is another scientist.

Email someone from the HL2 dev team if you still don't believe us...

  • sounds like magnissun to me.

  • Gordon's a mute, dude.

  • @Mist3rLemon Source?

  • @rockcabbage very dumb, thats the scientist and the scientist said what is he doing IN there and not UP there

  • @rockcabbage he is you can look through the files thats a scientist file not one in gordan freemans file, his a complete mute saying absolutely nothing

  • @rockcabbage Valve.

  • @rockcabbage Right, ya wanna argue that with the entire HL community? Go ahead, it's only been said he is 10000000 times now, from official and un.officials.

  • @rockcabbage Just look at some of the interviews with Valve staff, they say talk about it...

its a choice so that the player can put them self into the character.

  • @rockcabbage Valve.

  • @rockcabbage The Half-Life Wiki

  • @rockcabbage Valve, the makers of the game dumb ass.

  • @rockcabbage you know, Apeture and Black Mesa is the same universe, it would be kind of epic if the girl from portal was related to gordon, caus there both mute.

  • @rockcabbage Every Half-Life related item on the panet

  • @rockcabbage every half life game ever released?

  • @rockcabbage i think its stupid that on some of VALVES games, they have you're main character either barley talk or is mute

  • @rockcabbage Source: Half Life 1 and Half Life 2 and both Episodes. Including the Blue Shift and Opposing Force game packs. He never speaks, not even when directly spoken to. He has no voice actor. So thus all evidence points to him being mute.

  • @rockcabbage Every single player valve game. Half life 2, Portal 2

  • @Tundragrass Chell can actually talk, she is just so pissed at Glados she chooses not too.

    Seriously, it's in the wiki.

  • @rockcabbage 4 half life games, and the fact you need your hearing checked

  • @rockcabbage Wiki says theres no voice actor. thats proof enough.

  • @l4dshooter There is no file with Gordon's name on it, and generally voice actors have no fucking clue what they're voicing for, they walk in, read lines, get paid, and walk out. There is only two people who are likely to of had done Gordon's voice.

I also like how you imply a wiki, a user edited source of misinformation, is any kind of creditable source for research of any type.

  • @Mist3rLemon Gordon only learned 6 words in his life. It was hard for him to say it though.

The words were: "What is he doing up there?"

  • @Mist3rLemon nope. in half life 2, if you get hurt by fire, you can hearr gordon yelling OUF! OSF! AUGH!

  • @Mist3rLemon that my friend, might just change in HL3

  • Gordon never speaks, ever. that voice, as a lot of other people have said, is another scientist asking why Gordon is in the test chamber. The other voice is just reassuring Gordon. I see how you could mistake it for Gordon, but I assure you it's not.

  • Funny. In my version of Half-Life, the conversation goes as such:

Scientist 1: What is he doing in there?

Scientist 2: Nothing you need to worry about. Go ahead, Gordon. Slot the carrier into the analysis port.

  • No, the one who spoke was Gorden!

  • Theres 2 scientists and 1 says what are you doing up there and the other one says nothing you need to worry about and then he says Gordon carry on or something

  • maybe after the incident he became a mute :S

  • He meant it in a way as "Nothing you need to worry about, Gordon, go ahead."

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed this.

  • he says what is he doing in there not up there oh boy

  • That is clearly not gordon. Here's the real thing: in the game files, enter the folder Valve/sounds, and when you enter the folder, get to the one that says "Scientist". Open the file c1a0_sci_dis13a, and that's the voice. That clearly prooves is NOT gordon, also the voice says "Wh...what is he doing in there?", which refers to the test chamber, not the control room. And during the rest of the experiment, there is no sound of the mic being touched, just the voice of the sientists.
