  • Haha, not seen this vid for ages, Neil you look well young! LOL

  • Have you ever tried tabasco peppers? those are fun.

  • I tried them they are seriously hot

  • Although they don't compare with the habenero family, they are fiery enough. They are bearable enough in sandwiches in comparison. A tasty and popular pepper for cooking spicy food.

  • LOL!!

those little devils taste great when cooked with side dishes. really delicious south-east asian dishes. ohhh i miss my granny's 'masak lemak chili padi'. she'll put a handful of that chili.... yummy

  • whats the difference between the affrican and the asian

  • @Jenko696969 african bird's eye is piri piri. it's just a little bit more spicier. but both taste great when cooked as side dishes

  • This is painfull. I had an Asian Birds eye Chili ... Same as yours.... VERY PAINFULL... I had the tip to start with, and it burnt the tip of my tongue, i then decided to go for half of it, even then it burnt... They kinda have no flavour but a "HOT" sensation

  • @mxrida97 7 1/2

  • My first one was over whelming heat now i eat these as snacks

  • Bacama throat..

  • try an african birds eye argh i hear they are fucking foul

  • I ate those before because i mistaken them as those type of small, normal chili and the Bird's eye taste so "different" than the normal ones.Soon i realized that it is A LOT more spicy than the normal chili and there i knew i was screwed already.

  • I can eat load of this little beggars with lemon salad/ginger salad. That aren't that bad when eating as a side. But, eating with nothing else, that's different story.

  • Although not in the same class as the Naga or Savina, those little devils really pack a punch. Beware too, the birdeye can take on qualities of the hotter habeneros depending on the plant. I use birdeye chillies in food more often because they offer a milder heat, but on occasion for some reason they are either much weaker or extremely hotter than the average I know them to be.

  • I have some Zimbabwe Birds Eye planted here in Sweden. They grow just fine and are hot as hell. They grow slow here but, man, they're hot!

  • Growing Birds eye chili in a cold area, you will not have that intense and hot taste but if you plant it in a hot country like southeast Asia or any other country that has very hot weather... it will be very damn HOT...

  • @Thejr2137 Dude he lives near Sydney, Australia, the growing season is not exactly cold.....................

  • @paulmtonkin I know that, lets make it this way... why not just try birds eye chili that grows in southeast Asia...

  • Haha my dad grow them at the back of our yard and I try them but coudnt handle them ;( and my cousin eat like 3 of them almost every meal. O.o right?

  • yeah, Asian Chili FTW!!!

  • I just at one of these for the first time today, and this was the hottest pepper ive ever tasted, its a very intense heat and was too much for me to handle, so good job mate and i love watching ur vids

  • You should do a redux of this since this is 3 years old. You probably won't feel the heat at all this time :P

  • These seem to be similar to the Red Thai chili. The smaller, the hotter. Not much taste though. The Red Thai I tried was hot, but not like a Habanero, and had an earthy, almost dirt like taste.

  • stoonned lol ur so blazed

  • how much u sell em 4????

  • DUDE, YER STONED

  • My dad eats these on his toast and cheese aha he loves them!

I don't see alot of chilli's where I live (Scotland)

Me and my dad are big chilli eaters.

  • So Heroic. Pepper Man is lovely. Besides he's hot.....haha...i guess that explains it.

  • Oh bo you pooked of your Hand and then you eat it ugly. But you are Man that is freaky dude.

  • what?

  • Comment removed

  • r u stoned bra?

  • your vids have changed a bit over the years :)

this chili wouldnt make you sweat now after seeing the stuff u have eaten since this vid

  • good, solid, basline pepper

  • These are really aren't that hot/

I grow them in my backyard....

  • i think where the peppers grow affect the actual scovilles of the pepper..

  • dude i love those i think the habenero is spicier tho

  • he eats whole Nagas & Red Savinas - yeh your right though, these really arn't that hot

  • Thais messed me up bad at a Thai restaurant - was dying, sweat in my eyes, THEN I wiped my eyes with the same fingers I had held the peppers - Blind and Dying and Sweating - hottest I've ever met- never been back (embarrasment)

  • I just ate a birds eye & wow was it intense i tried to go aslong as i could without a drink but only lasted a couple of minutes haha. The burn was really strong but only lasted for about seven minutes.

  • They've got a nice kick to them, I used to eat those six at a time. Thought that had made me pretty much chilli immune, till I tried Scotch Bonnet.

  • I think you're eating the wrong one, buddy. There are TONS of Thai peppers out there, and Bird's Eye is just one variety, although the hottest of them. I've actually eaten a REAL Bird's Eye, and it's ALMOST AS HOT AS HABANEROS AND SCOTCH BONNETS. Easily one of the most vicious peppers I have ever tried, period.

It's quite easy to mistake peppers for another variety, you know. I mean heck... there are even Habanero-type peppers which are very mild in heat!! Remember, Thai = hot.. Bird = AHHH!!!!

  • These were definately birds eye, if the packet says so... it's good enough for me.

  • Hmm... not sure what to make of it, then. Either the variety was mislabeled, which is quite common, or it was grown in unsuitable conditions for the specific pepper, thus not being as hot as it could be in its natural setting. I remember how a real Bird's Eye was, and it kicked my ass almost as bad as Habaneros do. I've had other Thai peppers that were quite hot, but only one was THAT extreme.. I estimate about 250 000 Scoville Units.

  • Yea, but over time you get used to them.

It's suprising how fast you build up a resistance to it.

  • However, it's hard to believe you can eat 6 Bird's Eyes and yet get beaten by a Scotch Bonnet, considering that true Bird's Eyes are nearly as hot.. that makes no sense, lol.

  • It's a different kind of hot.

Birds Eye is more like your mouth just really really hot, where the Scotch Bonnet is like being pepper-sprayed in the mouth.

Trust me, it's not really a bit thing if you eat very hot food regularly, we have to put the cat out when we make Chilli or the fumes choke her.

  • I eat hot food regularly, and I can tell you first hand that despite Bird's Eyes having a different kind of burn, the intensity is easily close to a Scotch Bonnet. Scotch Bonnets can be up to 350k in heat, and Bird's Eyes about 250k, but most Scotch Bonnets don't reach that hot 100% of the time, and on average are about 250 - 300k, and Bird's Eyes more or less 200k. Trust me, you CAN'T eat 6 Bird's Eyes and then lose to a Scotch Bonnet, because their heat is real close in intensity.

    PS, I grow.

  • I never said anything about losing to a scotch bonnet, why are you still on about this? It's been over a week now.

I did it, it's the internet so there's no real way of either one of use proving/dispoving the other. You'll just have to deal with it I'm afraid.

  • Yeah, it's been over a week, we should drop this. It's just that when you said you thought you were chilli immune until you ate Scotch Bonnet sorta implies that the Scotch Bonnet burned the hell out of you, lol. Oh well, arguments over the internet are just too damn hard to finish. =S

  • thats for that info about peppers.. do u have any idea hot hot the wings at Zaxby's the ones called XXX HOT ,Insane,(THE HOTTEST FLAVOR THEY HAVE)

  • Never heard of em, but thanks for the info, I'll remember it. =P

  • im 14 , i ate one of these in school with a couple of my mates (for 2 of my mates it was their first ever chilli!)

The pain was pretty severe but eventualy your mouth goes numb. (my lips burned for quite some time longer though , as did my hands)

Could definatley go hotter , Scotch bonet is next on my list!

  • i ate some it very hot

  • Yeah very plain tasting but can see why you sell a lot to restaurants coz theyd be a good way of adding a whack of heat without any other flavour to food

  • yup and i use in a sauce too for that reason, as the heat is fairly instant with these, add Habs too and get an Instant whack from theses then the Hab Build or yes, i chop and put over food if want bit heat but no overpowering taste

  • Neil, have you ever tried the African Birdseye? I don't reccomend it. They are vicious little bastards and there is no nice fruity taste like other peppers to justify the pain, the dont taste nice at all. I had to eat seven of them for a dare much to the amusement of this hot barmaid who was in my house partying with us. It was a fun night lol xD

  • bugger, the seeeds didnt sprout of what got.. so no Boooooo, got the Malawi and Zimbabwe birdseyes growing atm, bet they taste crap too lol they are pretty plain tasting, most birdseyes lol

  • @SpeedKing408 Hehe!! So you think Bhut jolokia has a fruity taste that justify the pain. Hehe!!

  • these are little shits, god i am never eating 1 again

  • these are ok , but were the 1's i started with and had for like yrs, got too use to them though still good for friends :D

  • lol ive already ate 4 of em n no ring sting 4 me lol

    but heres a joke

dont ya fink ring sting will be a pain in the bum?

  • hahahahahah yes

    a real Pain... :D

  • this is called chili padi in singapore! Its very spicy for me!

  • coool Ty, its used heaps here in cooking, i love them on Pork Rolls, well any asian food (my favorite)

thanks again for the name too

    take care

    neil..

  • lol i ate one like this the other day and i panicked so much that i accidently told my dad to "GET ME A FUCKING DRINK"

  • hahahahahahahaha warning peppers may induce Swearing at inapropriate times, but also cause laughter to others, hope he didn't take offense :D

  • i tried a pepper that looked jsut like this but kinda like a tabasco too and these things are sick there jsut hot!!!! no taste things are sick

  • Yaa there are heaps of diff birdseyes and all hot :D im growing 2 diff kinds this season so should be fun to test :D

    cheers mate

  • Uh, are those the peppers that are served with Asian Resteraunt entrees? They're sort of black and dry in the entrees. Or is that another pepper?

  • naa they are diff, there are 100's of asian types, although here in Australia, they use these heaps in asian resteraunt cooking

  • Me and ma mates did this today to see hu could go the longest with out water

IT FUCKING BURNS SO FUCKING MUCH

i recomend if you do this have about 999999999999999999999999 bottles of water near you unlike we did

p.s it gives you the shits aswell :(

  • and Ring Sting isn't that crash hot either..

  • Thats good to know, I was wondering if it worked like that....I'd like to see the 10 Tepin test though.

  • ok cool, sounds good to me.

wonder if i can get through 10

    How exciting hahahaha

  • I have another test idea for you. I'd be interested to know if you ate 10 peppers at around 100 000 each scouvilles if it would feel like one at 1 000 000 scouvilles .

  • no it doesnt, done it in a test (not up yet) a Pequin 30,000-60,000, after a min nothing so had another 5,, then the 1st 1 kicked in as i was chewing the other 5. it got hot but according to the level, should have been as hot as a hab,and wasn't,,

but ill have a go at mabee 10 tepins, they bout 100,000shu, good test idea thanks..

    :-)

  • I looks like this hurt worse than some of the hotter ones you ate. Is there a point of hot that you can't get any hotter. Are peppers like the Red Savaina that much more painful, or just burn longer?

  • this was 1 of the 1st 1's i did,and basically the only chilli i ate for ages. i think ive built up a bit of restistance sinceas for heat, these and the other non habanero's give a fairly quick Whack and thats as hot as they get but go for bout 5 min,,Habanero's Build and get hotter and Peak at bout 3 min and that stays for bout 6,Savina Builds and Builds peaks bout5-6 and stays till 8,, Nagas go WHACK at 30 sec, then worse, then Bad then worse till 7-8 min, then pleatau and go for 20 min or more

  • lol i tryed do just do that last night..

who no what helps burns besides milk?

Greeen Tea it works for me some how

it like burns the pain away

  • ill have to try it, Yoghurt is really good too

  • Birdseyes burn like hell, i just ate 10 5min ago, and fuck, im dumb, it hurts!

  • 10 would burn like fuck, prob get a good buzz from after it all settled down..these are my 2nd fav to eat.. try the super chilli, its similar but HOTTER, ill test 1 as soon as they finish growing, nearly spring here in Oz, so ill have heaps growing soon..
