Pretty neat filter design...this is definitely an air purifier instead of just a plain old filter. I was a little skeptical at first bc of the whole ionic breeze scam but I think I will give this unit a try. Thanks. I'll comment back when I order one and it starts pumping the dust and dander out of the air. I have high hopes.

I was wondering if the unit is sealed...also is efficiency based on the whole unit or just the HEPA filter?...is it best to buy directly from the manufacturer or elsewhere...

The unit is sealed very tightly.. ---- although the whole "sealed HEPA" question is more of a marketing ploy if you ask me. In my 30 years of working with air purifiers I've maybe seen 1 cheap machine that "leaked". The alive air machine is sold directly which adds a 5-year warranty and lowers the cost.. thanks for asking

Ozone, in high amounts can damage lung tissue. PLus it does nothing for pollen and very little for dust. The negative Ions however are good for smoke and odors.
