@johnstar145 The rave gun is a very very very powerful weapon in BZ, you can demolish a tank in just a few hits about 2 - 4 energy balls lol only issue with this weapon is its crazy splash damage, your more likely to destroy yourself than someone destroying you haha well that's what I remembered using the RAVE :)

Ahh... Back in the day you could rent PC games; I probably should've returned it before the store closed, though.

But, I'm pretty sure it's abandonware. You can find the iso at CGN.

I got it for my Eee at battlezone1 . net, works perfectly fine with "modern PCs". xD

That's true. I got it via torrent, works just fine except that there's no intro and no music. It is bloody hard as well - the AI pilots much better than in BZ2.

The Rave Gun, eh? It is good stuff, one shot kills a Flanker. No wonder that's the only one in the whole game.

the game was made in 1998, so it is impossible to buy a brand new copy out there, and i think the 1.4 version requires a CD

I use the editor all the time just to equip all of my units with it. It's so fun attacking the enemy with a party. :)

Actually, if you use the map editor in BZ2, you can drop a rave gun spawn.

This game is awesome, it is simply one of the best ones created. It is a pity it has not been developed past BZII. I find there is a lack of good hybrid games these days =( BEST WEAPON EVER! When I first tryed that weapon out, I was like "Huh?".

I think its time for me to script a Rave Gun SWEP in Garry's mod, really I used to play BZ2 so much and loved the Rave Gun,

Now if anyone could tell me where the get the battlezone sounds from, I might be modelling the sabre tank and script other weapons into garry's mod.

(for the ones who don't know Garry's mod, its a sandbox for the source engine, yes you're close it has something to do with half life 2 and counter strike source, just check out steam)

I used to play this over the network with my dad and once with a friend.

And i loved that mission on Europa, i finished the game a year ago and that mission stuck to my head, i just loved having my base there and sneaking around sniping that soviet pilot, the atmosphere, the atmosphere....... :)

This game is great, its got alot of tense atmosphere, i just love being in space, especially on the moon and it makes me think of Doom too.

And the story with the aliens is a little scary there when they start attacking you and you never really realize who they are.
