I really hope that the "Q" doesn't go the way of the 'house siren. It's not a fire truck without a good "Q". Also the new LED lights aren't a big hit with me. Sure, no more electrical problems with the old lights, but they're just too mechanical.

The Siren is a Federal Signal Q2B and is electro-mechanical which draws about 100 amps and is rated to 120db @ 10 feet and costs about $1,400. It's well worth it considering you can hear it coming from a mile away, and it has a nickname "GROWLER".There is an electronic version called the e-Q2B and it only draws about 30amps, claims to have an output of 122db @ 10 feet and cost about $990. I hope this clarifies some of your questions
