  • Reminds me of Deus Ex for some reason.

  • hate to say it, i really really like the score but Trent did a LOT of recycling of his older stuff, specially around the fragile time. He re-used slightly different riffs and melodies on this score.

  • @Gonko100

I would say more Ghosts than The Fragile.

  • @Spectre1545

    yeah I agree.

  • @Gonko100 That's not entirely accurate though. As a composer, I know that all Trent did was sit with his instruments and get out tons of ideas based on those familiar emotions. True "recycling" denotes a conscious decision, because our brains can only create new ideas. No two thoughts are ever exactly the same. What you're recognizing is Trent's current "sound", and real talent lies in how versatile one's sound can be. Trent pushes his own limits more than almost anyone I can think of in music.

  • "Shit..."

  • Esto es Ghost 14 I-IV jee es lo mismo practicamente jajajaja XD Trent se a salido con la suya jajaja ;P

  • "I like standing next to you Sean. It makes me feel tough."

  • I swear this version of the track wasn't in the movie. It sounded more like Ghosts.

  • Is it weird that 0:44 kinda reminds me of Fight Club? Great movies, great soundtracks, great director. :)

  • From that point on, it was a Sean-a-thon.

  • at 0:52 this becomes so fucking amazing!

  • MMMMMIIIINNNNNDDD FFFUUUUUCCCCKKKKKK!!!!! - The reason it was like that was to depict the effect of time slowing and and getting really jiggy with it.

  • - a million dollars isn't cool. you know whats cool?

    - you?

    - a billion dollars

  • @gvrlprncp and thats what shut everybody up

  • sounds like ghosts

  • @dmonsx Thats what i said

  • @PhyOSPhyOS he means the album.....

  • @nintoolapcfloyd Yes, I realised that a day later. Thanks for pointing it out, though.

  • and from there on...it was a sean-athon.

  • Inception should have won but it didnt sadly enough, the reason why Trent Reznor won was that he and Atticus Ross put together was amazing and fit the movie to a T. Hans Zimmer is the man, and yes he shouldve won.

  • @za316653 They also came up with a much original soundtrack than Zimmer did (*cough* Journey to the Line *cough*).

  • @za316653 Indeed.

  • Inception should've gotten it. Hands down.

  • @Zewtie preach on! inception was just a nice fun movie really.

  • "You're twenty minute late. You're gonna walk in there and say you overslept and didn't have time to get dressed. They're gonna pitch you. Case Equity is going to pitch you. They're gonna beg you to take their money. You're gonna nod, you're gonna nod, you're gonna nod and then you're gonna say; "Which one of you is Roth?" No not Roth, Manningham. "Which one of you is Mitchell Manningham?" And he'll say; "I am". And you say; "Sean Parker says F*** You!" Walk Out."

  • @ChrisCompany1029 Wrong scene...

  • fuckin shaun-a-thon

  • from then on it was a sean-a-thon

  • Inception is shit.

  • "Drop the "the". Just Facebook. It's cleaner."

  • @hammy012 Shit.

  • @Zewtie This movie was on the same level as inception, but neither of them should have won for best score, this year John Powell obviously did best. Anyways, the ones posting here are mostly the same as I am. We at least try understanding why this soundtrack has won, thats why we listen to it. But honestly, except from "hand covers bruise" (definately strong in emotion) I can't find any oscar worthy track. Listen to the How to train your dragon score, and you'll know why...

  • This is pretty much 14 Ghosts II, by the same guys. Just louder and more elephant-y.

  • @RevCosmosis thanks! saved me time going through the whole ghosts album to figure out which song this was

  • @FilmReviewGuy789 There was more than one soundtrack?

  • But I do really like trent reznor, this sounds a lot like nine inch nails

  • Inception's soundtrack was better, but it could'nt have won the oscar because it was all sound mixed from a single piece of music.. at least thats what I heard

  • @Sodericeberg thats what i heard as well, if im correct it was the beginning of the je ne regrette song but slowed way down and amplified.

  • @Sodericeberg Then it wouldn't have been nominated. You heard that here.

  • @Sodericeberg First off CSX is right, if something can't win, it can't be nominated. Secondly, that song that was trimmed down from je ne regrette was the song specifically written for the trailer by Jack Hensey, and wasn't even in the movie. And why the hell is everyone so hung up about awards. THEY DONT MATTER... if anything, the oscars matter the least. It's just a bunch of stuffy hipster- corporate jews lolling about... if you like something, leave it at that. who cares?

  • Both "The Social Network" & "Inception" are GENIUS scores from GENIUS artists. & I'm not just saying that to make you guys feel better. I've literally got physical copies of BOTH the CDs lying right here next to my laptop. #LOL So everyone arguing be quiet. Just enjoy the music :)

  • i like them both too, same for the films and the ironic thing about people arguing over these scores is that they couldn't be more different if they tried! Comparing Reznor amd Ross' hypnotic modern techno beats next to Zimmer's ominous orchestral boom is chalk and cheese! The fanboys don't really appreciate Zimmer's skill, they just want their music 'loud and proud', like a Michael Bay film, which is why they can't listen to this (and probably skip Zimmer's more restrained tracks).

  • You know, a film score works in conjunction to its images. The music worked so well in every scene. It is new, fresh, and original, much like the ground that Zuckerberg was breaking; It is powerful, haunting, exciting, and sad all at the same time, and, even at its simplest, it is truly complex... and THAT is why it won.

  • some of these songs (like this one) sound just like trent reznors ghosts singles, which i adore :)

  • @Zewtie Buut it had a better Soundtrack than this. :P

  • As much as I love Inception, its music was nothing new or spectacular. It was Hans Zimmer doing what he normally does with Chris Nolan's films: understated, brass-filled harmonies.

Social Network's soundtrack is unique. Fincher could have easily gone the same old orchestral route, but went with something different instead. That's why I think it deserved the win.

  • ...this won over inception? this is not even that good?

  • @gmoneyproductions25 You obviously have a bad taste in film.

  • @Metralo Nope. I liked The Social Network, I just don't see how this soundtrack is anything special.

I'm sure you have you're own opinion on the matter too, doesn't mean you have bad taste in film though.

  • The Sean-athon

  • @Zewtie you're preachin' to the choir dude, they won't understand.

  • What song on 13 minute from Movie? Please

  • This is a remix of one of the songs on ghosts ^.^

  • how the hell did this win, while inception music lost the golden globe? BS

  • @yazmannn I completely agree with you, I was astonished to see that Hans Zimmer didn't get it ! I hope he will at least win an Oscar ! His work was amazing !

  • @itzalexplox WTF, you´re comparing Trent Reznor with Justin Bieber and the other bitches, you are a fuckin ignorant cheap soul who needs to stop masturbating with his pedofile dad´s child pornography cause that´s messing with you son, u low scum retard i would like to stomp your mom´s face and then jizz all over his fuckin throat for giving birth such an ignorant piece of fag trash like you, do some research fool, google "Nine Inch Nails" & tell me they´re like Justin Bieber, u fuckin faggot

  • @Hackmoune Shut up kid Ill kill youin one hit fucking pussy.

  • So you're saying that the voters were a bunch of teenage girls? Highly unlikely...

  • Zuckerberg gets sucked!!

  • LOL yes I heard that elephant, too :-)

  • David Fincher always gets the best soundtracks!

  • i hear the beat to the Fleetwood Mac song "Tusk" and there's definitely an elephant in there...

  • aaah i spent ages on finding this song.... but i made it! my fav

  • Ghosts 14 was my favorite track from that album.........

  • 2:11's too short

  • in the beginning I tought that it was Ghosts II - 14 .

  • @Eunika22 This is Ghosts 14, simply reworked a little.

  • seanathon!

  • I love this! this is what i've been looking for!

  • i swear i heard an elephant in this

  • @larafoo I know same here!!!

  • @larafoo i heard it too :D

  • @larafoo it is an elephant partying

  • @larafoo

Trent Reznor wanted you to think of elephants, just to say "Fuck you" to the Inception soundtrack a little bit more.

  • @larafoo Don't think about elephants.
