The rich think they're better than us, they worked harder, "earned" their wealth, are smarter or better blessed by God.Since they think they're superior, they're not going to care about the poor.From their point of view, people are poor due to their own incompetence in some way or another, so to help them would be just "enabling" their laziness, incompetence, etc. In short, the elitists (not all but most of the rich) will continue to oppress the rest of us until we revolt.

The immigration the last 40 years to the USA should be reversed quickly. A population of no more than 200 million is not manageable today. Even fewer would be better.
