one of the most important factors in which rembetiko differs from blues is that rembetiko always was a very urban music. music of hashish smoking immigrants thrown out of their homes in turkey (while turks were thrown out of their homes in greece)....

In the beginning, Rebetika dealt with the same topics as blues. Although it does not sound like blues, it feels like blues.
