Laser discs had true sound from the theatres because it was a bigger surface. I think DVD and Blue ray has compressed sound because when I watch laser disc I can hear clear dialogue sometime DVD and Blue ray sound muffled even with a high end receiver but you do get a clear picture on BD or DVD. I wish they would make blue rays on bigger discs more surface area better sound

Do some research. BluRay and HD-DVD are practically the same in terms of formats supported AND even in read speed. BluRay and HD-DVD BOTH can run MPEG-2, H.264, and VC-1 and those are the only options for BOTH formats. I doubt you work for Sony, too, since you are far too uninformed and to add to the "prossesing" comment .. First, learn to spellcheck. Second, MPEG2 isn't processing, it's encoding. HIGHLY unlikely you work at Sony, I can tell.

bluray and hd dvd got around the same quality. bluray has more space on their disks, but hd dvd disks can use multiple layers so it evens each other out.
In the film industry Sony owns MS pretty hard, in the game industry its the opposite.

HD-DVD is dead. Paramount has a out clause allowing them to leave to Blu-Ray if Warner was to go exclusive to blu-ray, which it has. So the only one left is Universal, and even they are timed exclusive for about 12 months or so. Say bye bye to HD-DVD. This is why I don't buy Microsoft crap, they too dumb to understand technology.

Do some research. BluRay and HD-DVD are practically the same in terms of formats supported AND even in read speed. BluRay and HD-DVD BOTH can run MPEG-2, H.264, and VC-1 and those are the only options for BOTH formats. I doubt you work for Sony, too, since you are far too uninformed and to add to the "prossesing" comment .. First, learn to spellcheck. Second, MPEG2 isn't processing, it's encoding. HIGHLY unlikely you work at Sony, I can tell.

Blu-ray sucks. Tried a standalone player. Really slow on reading discs and boot-up. Sooooo, I got an HD DVD player. Real fast at boot-ups and takes 2 seconds to read a disc (I'm serious!)

bluray and hd dvd got around the same quality. bluray has more space on their disks, but hd dvd disks can use multiple layers so it evens each other out.
In the film industry Sony owns MS pretty hard, in the game industry its the opposite.
That means the PS3 has shit for good games, and there is shit (compared to bluray) out movie based.

Dude below, everyone knows, except for retards, anyways the point was it is the differance between regular DVD and HD, not that the 360 runs games using the disc. ON a side note the real desperate format is blu-ray. If they weren't they wouldn't have gotten on top with what the measures they took.
