who ever sees this video please put a message to me im going to have lots of promosionts that i whant to help the people that are in the gold in years.
i now that right now is not time to take vacations but if you help me out i will help you out with your vacations i might pay for them but you have to send a massega to me.
I am a 6th generation resident and I don't expect "the 'Burg" to be everyones cup of tea. My father learned German at home and English in grade school. You can still here a little German exchanged between the locals but the language has been in decline since the WWI days of anti-german sentiment. A recent influx of 'auslanders' (outsiders) is changing the town I have known for 49 years. Fredericksburg cops bend over backwards to avoid conflicts with tourists- the town's lifeblood.
I live 50 miles from Fredericksburg and I am first Generation German/American. While most of the "German Restaurants" have no idea what German food is. The Lindenbaum is worth the trip every time. Not to mention that there are still a few older residents that are indeed able to speak German
On a more positive note the bakery behind the blue arrow at 4:00 is as good as they get. Three types of bread (the white makes INCREDIBLE toast) donuts that would make you throw rocks at crispy cream and a good selection of pastries- they open at 8 and sell out early. Fredericksburg is a little provincial but that is exactly the charm that draws tourists. If the local cops were bothering chinvino1 he was probably doing his imitation of Otis the Mayberry drunk. Machs Gute (sp?)
what a lame little poophole of a town. mostly dominated by right winged narrow minds who have never stumbled into the real world. oh yeah, and the cops are oversized barney fifes.
Fredericksburg is a nice town rich with history, has a very scenic landscape in the Texas Hill Country and its close to San Antonio too. Sure like to pass through the town when I'm heading to San Antonio!
nice video. lots of memories of a charming enchanting town. wish they showed the other side of the street - this video just showed about 40% of the main drag . maybe we'll get a sequel ?
