  • adding turmeric or chilly powder while pressure cooking is good! lot of ppl do that. but @ the end u have half fried the onions! it doesnt suit the dish. better u skip it.

  • But I got stomach upset after trying your recipe, adding chilly and turmeric powder while pressure cooking is not a good idea, it adds a sharp taste to the dish. Probably better idea to add them later while boiling on the stove or tempering, that would make it milder, suits the characteristics of the kootu. IMO.

    But your presentations are good, swift and sufficing.

    Adding turmeric while pressure cooking never hurts - a lot of Indians make yellow pulao or cook dal with the turmeric this way. Pressure cooking the chilli powder actually REDUCES the heat/sharpness, not the other way around. You can always use less.
