Saw D'Influence live at The Hub in Bath, UK in the early 90's - they were fantastic. Carleen Anderson, Sunchilde and Urban Species were all touring about the same time and were incredible. Roy Ayres and Donald Byrd played The Hub too... ahh those were the days!
The pinnacle of the UK acid-jazz movement, the grooves and music were solid and the voals were smooth. This CD was one of the classic jointz along with JTQ, Incognito, Jhelisa, Carleen Anderson, etc. Thanks!
Wow, you just named a heap of my favorite artist in the early 90's. I agree with all your comments. Don't forget the Brand New Heavies!!! They still rock hard!
Does anyone out there have the D-Influence CD " The Divas" that came out around 2000 ? It was a great CD and I've misplaced my only copy. Please post some songs on You/Tube.
Wow.. I've googled this song several times but used the "for" vs. "4" in my searches. How wonderful to finally find it, such a great blast from the past and a lovely song. Thanks!
Amazing group - always bought everything they released and have great memories of seeing them live in Brighton back in the day. Outstanding and brilliant track!
I have this groups album all the way in the Virgin Isalnds, so they are known, don't sleep on them. I still love them. They remind me of my favourite Brit group....SOUL II SOUL
love this group!! most yanks don't know about this..but I DO!! do they have any other stuff.. i have "good for we", "london", "prayer 4 unity", and "divas"..am i missing anything?
You don't have to tell me about Shaun Escoffery. I've been watching his videos ever since they were posted by "oystermusic".
What upsets me, though, is that, for some reason, "oystermusic" pulled one of my favorite Escoffery videos, called "Give Everything". If you've got that one to post, I'd be really grateful.
I think the reason they had to pull it was because of copyright issues. I read on the net that it's owned by MTV or Viacom. Some of these corporate giants are just plain ignorant. Have you noticed there aren't very many Prince videos on You Tube since he parted ways with Warn a brother? LOL
