Yeah, it's really amazing. They migrate through Portland every year and sleep in the big chimney of this school. People come every evening with their picnics and sit on the grass to watch them.
Wow, we attended Saturday night. A great evening! But I love the piano on this. It's incredibly well done, and representative of the intensity of the swifts' return to the chimney for another night. Great job!!!
oh, just for dramatic effect. it seemed to suit the mood. also, it was just starting to be fall, and was thinking of halloween in the back of my mind. the black cat....crazy swirling birds....I don't know.
Thanks. Yeah, I think it's a Falcon, either a Peregrine, or Merlin Falcon. And yeah, Glenn Gould seemed a good choice for the music. It works pretty well. Glad you get to go see them. I take it you're not from Portland then? Anyway, have fun!
I'm from Seattle. And I'd finally decided on either a Merlin or a male Peregrine. Falcons are the most likely to catch one of those swirlers. We have a few hundred in a school chimney in Monroe, WA, but nothing like Chapman! Cheers--EB

I love this! And esp. because I get to BE there next week. Any idea what kind of hawk? Coop? Merlin? What a clever choice of music!
