  • saw them on their goodbye, goodnight tour. their set was 2 hours long and dave, jacob, mark, and rob came out after and talked with the fans. best.concert.ever <3

  • i understand why so many Mae fans are mad, but singularity is a good album. it's not mainstream by any means. the lyrics are still meaningful, but the music has a new edge that seemed to be absent from Destination and The Everglow. plus, if you really want to hear more of their old sound, just listen to the (m)orning EP. it basically shows Mae's sound coming full circle, like Destination meets Singularity in an excellent mix. Mae's more on top of their game than ever before, IMO.

  • Oh mae mae mae go back to the drawing board. cause this ain't near destination beautiful material. (its alright though, i understand there trying something new, but the main reason why i loved Mae so much was because they had this original sound...not the same stuff you hear on the radio). I still love you guys though!

  • It's okay, but not as good as some of their older stuff. I feel like this is definitely a 'pop-ified' version of mae, the sound is too processed and the hook too...something.

  • This may sound hard to beleive, but as they are growing as a band, they will change their sound. I do prefer the songs off Everglow and before Capitol, but you can't just go off and blame Capitol on everything. I do like their new sound. Just not as much as old Mae, but I can accept their new sound.

  • they aren't classified as "christian" music, because little if any of thier lyrics carry christian meanings. but, however they are professed christians who sing very clean songs and the occasional one about God or w/e

  • you know, the guys seem really happy with the new sound. you can tell it by seeing them live. I honestly don't blame the label.

    but, regardless, i think we all agree that mae is amazing.

    my band is ctually about to play a show with them. it took some hard work, but we're really stoked about it

  • Man, mae is such a good band. I've only heard singularity but I ordered destination beautiful and the everglow and should have them in a few days. I hear those are awesome too.

    fortunately, I couldn't care less for your American laws in Vienna. Besides, I will take the liberty not to indulge in music i.e. lyrics enriched by any sort of questionable propaganda, whether those are racist, sexist, xenophobic or homophobic malfunctions of the brain.

    Music+spirituality? No prob, but preferably in the style of Coltrane's A Love Supreme, Talk Talk's Spirit of Eden etc

  • Yeah I must agree that they do sound alot like the other bands being compared to as stated by the comments below. Essentially it is the same old crap being spewed out by mega greedy record distributers who have no clue what good jams are. The best stuff rarely makes it to the mainstream audience because the elitists prefer you to be numbed and dumbed by the same ole garbage with the same kind of lyrics. Think about it.

  • WOW...... i cant believe this happen to Mae of all bands. They were so good they had nice songs with thoughtful riffs that were put time into and very catchy. Now they fuckin' sound GAY with Capitol records. They should of stayed w/ Tooth and Nail. I put them up there with 3 Doors Down, Nickleback, and 311 hella cheap chords with no skill involved only nice melodies to attract mainstream listeners
