I'm planning on buying spare brake pads for my '09 GF Tassajara with Shimano M486, hydraulic disc, 160mm CenterLock rotors and the stock pads are Shimano resin B01S. There is a 1st version, as well as a 2nd version. Can someone please tell me what the differences are between the two?

p.s. i own this bike and when i bought it, it wasnt a $500 bike it was around $1000 and i road it on some wicked trail in mont tremblant quebec and its a siick bike so dont be making fun of this bike.
Don't knock it... that's one of the best bikes you can buy for the price, it's worth buying for the frame alone. I'm sure the guy will get around to upgrades, like good hydraulic brakes, in time.
Some of you guys are real dicks. They guy found a damn nice bike in his budget. Are you guys really expecting a $500 bike to resemble a $2500 bike? Get real.
Its a nice bike. I hope he loves the sport and gets into it.
I have the same bike! Love it. For the haters down below f$#@off! Its a good bike for the price, not everybody can drop a thousand plus dollars on a bike
i buyed a gary fisher opie and its all shit exept for the tires and the frame but a mullet is a good bike the opie is just a cheaper copy of it but i putted on a 200 mm fork and hydraulik disc brakes and new some other small stuff and now its a very good bike
would you recomend the wahoo or wahoo disc im buying my first mt bike and there on my top picks for what i want to buy what do the disc brakes allow you to do that non disc brakes cant
V brakes provide great stopping power in dry conditions, and disc brakes provide better stopping power in wet/muddy conditions. Also disc brakes won't wear down your rims like v brakes will. Also, if you bend your rim out on the trail it might rub and/or interfere with braking; however disc braking will remain unaffected.
i bought the same bike i have an 02 wahoo that has lasted me about 7 years great mt. bike i rode it hard enough to snap the forks that was the only thing i had to replace everything worked awesome and for GOLF GURU'S QUESTION YES THE FORKS(SHOCK) WILL LEAVE A OILY FILM IT IS JUST A LUBRICANT OTHER WISE IT WOULD BE LIKE A ENDINE WITH NO OIL THE TWO METALS WILL GRIND TOGETHER SO KEEP IT WELL LUBRIACATED
i got this in silver last christmas and i love it. question though, the shocks leave a film of oil every time they're used, is this supposed to happen?
the bike is a bit over rated... i have one myself and its a very light weght bike and very nimble. and a nice sleek slightly bent frame genisis 2.0 edition. but some disc braked would really help with turning so the v type brakes dont throw you back from rubbing on the wheels. but and overall i'd give it 10/10 (but dont use it for jumps any higher than 3ft it really messes up the gears and the bike wheels)
