I feel really weird when watching this... because they are diverging almost completely away from the manga... (stop reading if you don't want spoilers!)

In the manga, Asuna doesn't die, her power is actually hereditary, infact she is actually royalty, Nagi is never confirmed alive OR dead, he disappeared not 9, but 15 years ago, the normal students do not discover magic until very late in the manga, Yue never kissed Negi, and that's off the top of my head!

@cousincorps it's called a time paradox, to go into the past to fix something would mean that it never happened so going in the past never was needed, but since it wasn't needed, thus never happened, which means the thing that was fixed, wasn't, so it's still needed...it's a confusing thing that kinda proves time travel to be impossible, and no it's not, that just means Asu is older then she seems. and i think she saw him about the same time negi got his staff....

@shimasclan Actually its not a time paradox when done correctly. Stable time loops can exist. There is also the fact that the Negima-verse doesn't have issues with running into future or past selves as long as you don't both meet. though its OK if you plan it right.

If you have ever seen The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, that shows a good example of a stable time loop.

Well this is clearly in violation of the laws of physics. If he goes back in time to prevent whatever kills her, then when she doesn't die he doesn't feel the need to go back in time to save her, therefore it is impossible, she would need to die in order for him to go back in time to save her, but then if she doesn't he won't, and she will, so he will, then she won't so he won't then she will so he will.
