omg, this was in my dvd. My Mom, who couldn't tell Cohen Bros from Friedberg and Seltzer, actually bought and/or got a bootleg copy. I was actually pissed I was sitting there watching it with her, but it wasn't mind fuckingly awful. If anything the Die Hard references saved it.

Oh and I wanted to mention that when I saw this in theaters (don't ask me why) I had my arms crossed staring angrily at the screen and there was this old lady siting next to me that was probably in her early 60's that was laughing out loud at every moment that was suppose to be funny throughout the movie but really wasn't. This movie came out at around the time when most of the 4 star academy award wining films came out like Milk and Slumdog Millionaire and the movie that tops the box office is this dumb movie about a mall cop. Everyone in MA is biasly in love with this movie, due to the fact it was filmed in the mall 2 miles from my home, in Burlington, MA.

It was kind of neat seeing the Christmas set up for a year, and then seeing the stores you've grown up shopping in on the big screen.

I agree it wasn't an amazing movie, but it had some down home charm.

I didn't want to see this movie too much at first, but my dad wanted to go since it was a rainy day. So we saw it and it was funnier and more well written than I expected. Depending on the mood you're in, I'd give this a matinee or rental, but it had quite a few witty lines beyond the fat jokes so I'd probably say a mid to low matinee.
