  • i myself just picked up a set of green label 505 rare, 15" hats, for 100 bucks, and they sound just as nice as any medium 2002 hats of the same size..no one dare compare them to today's alphas, because the are far more superior in sound quality and manufacturing ! but what do i know ?,..i've only been playing paistes for over 2 decades, and have been a sound engineer for 14 of those years..

  • 505's don't get enough credit..[people think they're only student models, which is why they were manufactured in the 1st palce..however..after playing several 2002's over a quarter century , and having played 505's as well, i personally think , in my humble opinion, that they're just as great sounding as anything paiste made in the 2002 series..yes, they might be slightly less complex, and quick on the decay, but i think they're fantastic, never the less..

  • nice ! i have the green stamp 505 hi hats and the med ride. they sound great. picked them up for 25.00 !

  • Boy this brings back memories. My first step into the Paiste world was a 16" 404 and 18" 505 medium crash.Had that 505 for almost 20 years till someone stole it.I have Paiste 2002s but that 505 was my favorite cymbal.

  • IMHO, Paiste 505s were the greatest bang for the buck ever!

  • Hello! The Hi Hat is a matched 1983 Paiste 505 14" Medium, one of my favourite hats...

  • what kinda hihats are you using?
