  • I really liked this review about my country's food and all of your videos in general. But there was a little mistake, açorda can be made with fish but also with like sausages, chicken or even vegies (: thanks for all the positive comments about Portugal anyway :p

  • ps…doradu is actually sea bream not sea bass, very different taste

  • @homesudreystreet i always get dorada and robalo mixed up. but both are great and my two favorite fish to eat in portugal so regardless people will be ok eating either one :)

  • it´s true Portuguese food is awesome delicious, when I go travel I always miss my portuguese food :)

  • Thanks for this Mark. I'm coming to Portugal next week. Can't wait. So long carb diet!

  • @Witchita1 rice and fries... and an extra side of fries :) with pretty much any meat dish... the veggies and boiled potatoes come with grilled fish dishes. but you can ask for veggies (Legumes) and they will get them for you. Usually kale or a brocolli and carrot mix.

  • Hello, thanks for this information. Do you have information on airports? We would be coming from the U.S. A. and I guess go to Lisbon and would like to see what Fatima is all about. Do you have information on this city? Also, is there an airport closer to Fatima or is Lisbon airport the only international airport? Thanks so much for your input and help. I am wanting to get as much on Lisbon and Fatima. This is our first time to be out of the States like this.

  • @adamsrib07 you will fly into lisbon and take a bus to fatima. it is just an hour and a half to fatima. there are buses every hour to fatima. You just go to the bus station that is at the "Jardim zoologico" subway stop. There are numerous buses there and back. when you get to fatima it is signposted where to go to get to the basilica, and you will see because it is where everyone is going there :)

i have a couple videos from fatima here. one is on the future tense in portuguese, filmed in fatima

  • what if I wanna order a prostitute?

  • @BukkakeCapiton

hmmmm... i don't know... maybe a new video is needed

  • @BukkakeCapiton you go to Lisboa's Bairro Alto and you don't need to say anything.

  • yeah, true about the soups, i usually do not order them but if i think about you are right. thanks for the food suggestions too! keep them coming!!! obrigado!

  • Espadarte, carapaus, bacalhau, are another good fish that you should prove when you came back here.

Our kitchen is not really great in variety of salads. But we get all the vitamins and nutrients that we nedd in our soups, which are very rich in veggies. You should indeed prove next time because they are the best in the world.

  • I have lived in Finland, Lithuania, Austria, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, USA, Australia, and Portugal over the past 15 years, so I come from a lot of places.

  • nice... i never got out of Portugal... and I LOVE SARDINHAS *-*

  • i still remember the first time i had sardinhas... had no clue what to do... the guys i was with just laughed while i tried to eat the first one... then they showed me the trick :)

  • well, I usually eat them in the middle of the bread.... is tradition

  • ate that a lot at Santos in lisbon. but for some reason that big plate of sardinhas assadas get me everytime :) so tasty! just remember my friends laughing at me as i started to eat the guts :) great, now i am hungry for some ;)

  • 3 years in portugal ? with your opinion about our food ? you come from were?

  • 3 years in Portugal and I am doing more to promote traveling to Portugal than even the tourism board of portugal. I have seen your not very nice posts before and do not appreciate them. I have approximately 80 videos on here teaching portuguese, and showing different parts of the country. If tat is not good enough for you then i suggest you do more to promote Portugal than write spiteful/mean comments.

  • you are making me hungry marta!!! Yeah, that is true, when i have been in the north i have had more veggies. Lisbon... they are definately a rice and fries town :)

  • and i must say that the videos are a great help for tourist and the tip about the beginning of the meal that is payed, it's a great tip, because the tourist don't know about it and they can pay a high price about it :S

  • the veggies depends the region where you go, becouse if you go north portugal you see a lot of veggies :p but yes we are big fans of rice and potatos, specialy french fries! :) i love porco preto too because it tastes better and it's soo tender :P but i have to say that my favorite are cozido a portuguesa, bacalhau com natas ( with cream) and feijoada :)

  • marta i have lived in portugal for 3 years :) and there are many many wonderful dishes and i agree with you on that. I am just giving things for the tourists so they have some ideas. I am a big Porco preto man myself, and plumas... yum yum... but honestly, after 3 years here i can say that veggies do not play as big of a role in the cuisine as other places :) I have tried cozido a portuguese and well... i like my segredos do porco preto :)

  • Soo i'm not saying you are all wrong with that but these portuguese restaurants only serve some foods, if you cameback again please try some dishes like: cozido à portuguesa, rancho, favas guisadas, feijoada, bacalhau à portuguesa...and believe me the have vegetables, many of them!but keep with the work! :D

  • I saw you only went to lisbon center to eat, but around lisbon they have the REAL portuguese food and believe me we eat a lot of vegetables, and i realised that you didn't eat the most famouse portuguese dish: Cozido à portuguese, and half of this dish are vegetables.

  • hey, i'm portuguese and i really disagree with your opinion about our food, because our plates have many vegetables, maybe you eat in restaurants wich you think they are really typical portuguese restaurants but they aren't.
