  • That chick at 1:10 doesn't need to worry about going hungry. Ever.

  • @mintedllama or is always hungry....

  • The girl at 1:10 has an awesome mustache

  • @oceanminded050 That could be John Waters in drag lmao.

  • those 10 s who disliked r dickheads..\m/.

  • Still a great song.

  • i saw him a couple months ago at the wellmongt 3rd time c in him he has not lost a step beltin out those high notes mr. cornell u f-in rock horns up

  • As usual this is HEAVEN 2 the ears. His voice can cause Amphitheaters 2 VIBRATE! I know this from experience.Your clothes R Rocking& it feels so much like Soul-Food!

  • those hey's he does at the end are fucking wicked

  • i still don't understand how any true lover of music could "dislike" this song..it's crunch-tastic

  • who the fuck would dislike this... one of the best screams in rock next to Maynard and Layne

  • @oceanminded050 very well played with maynard and layne, layne and chris being my all time favs

  • The 90's gave us the best rock singers on the planet. What do we have today? :(

  • @djstevie69 The same singers, just 20 yrs older...

  • incredible concert, every song!

  • yeah!!!

  • 3:46 hey I didn't know Taylor Swift was a fan. haha!

  • @timhyer1 How dare you even say Taylor Swift's name on a Chris Cornell video.. You ought to jump off a table.

  • Not bad, but definitely missing Eddie!

  • I agree with Missus...how many times has he sung this one, plus Rusty Cage, Geronimo, Jesus Christ Pose, etc? his voice is lucky to be working let alone making him a living!

  • best version of this song ever

  • The one who sang the part of Eddie Vedder SUCKS!!!

  • @kilrhadi his mic is up way too loud...

  • weird how there are such annoying comments on a Chris Cornell video...comments that belong on videos of the more popular but less talented artistes whose names I shall not say because they are repeated too many times

  • cameraman has a bad taste for chicks !!! LoL

  • @ahuahua123 or maybe, he was just showing different fans of Chris. You know they aren't obliged to show the "Hottest" chicks..those are for hip hop videos.

  • No one plays it like Mike McCready, and no one sings Eddie part as Eddie Vedder do.

  • You can listen how they add efx to his voice when he hits the high notes...reverb, delay and a bit more of bottom end.

  • i miss those days, wish there is a time warp that i can go thru ....

  • Fat bitch at 1:12 lmfao

  • one of my fav songs of all time

  • the fat chick with the mustache kinda ruins it

  • I can't feed on the powerless when my cup's already overfilled........F'n A

  • @ydarbj11 too bad the oil industry doesn't think that way.

  • To bad eddie vedder isnt there

  • Not as good as he used to be, but still great, especially considering that so many of the current acts these days sound horrific live.

  • Ali Cant Punch The Way He Did, But You Still Remember Dont YOU!!!!!!!!!!

  • he's taken much better care of his voice than other ie axl rose. his body too. he's like 46 years old right now i mean damn.

  • @MegaStarfucker he can now... and u know 20 years has passed since the Badmotorfinger era! No one's voice can be the same..

  • I wonder what it's like for chris to sing this song...i mean just because it's about his best friend. He looks more emotionally connected to this song than he does to soundgarden songs. LOVE THIS SONG. but it sounds weird without eddie.

  • Its not easy to please everyone you know when you are in the spotlight.

Sometimes its better to please yourself so you feel better and hope they see it your way. If not: Thats alright. Maybe you will come back later.

  • he kicks ass this performance

  • Chris doesn't even break a sweat when he hits those high notes. One of the best front-men ever!!!

  • man he's still got it- nailed those screams perfectly!!!

  • those pricks in the crowd did not know this song assholes long live the 90s temple of dog 4 life

  • I got to perform this song in front of a bar back where I live and i'm just glad I chose this song, The scream didnt come out right (like in practice jams!!) but im still very glad

One of my favourite songs of all times and damn u cornell, u make it sound too easy with the screams!!

Still got that voice after all these years, Just So Wicked Cool!!!

  • chris screamed the shit out of his vocals in this concert!! fucking awsome.

  • rock out chris..........sad that this man is the only one still in the spotlight representing our generation.....and don't say something about pearl jam.... they are a ghost and they don't have to be.

  • dude Silverchair is still rockin the shit out for for Generation X....i was a little one during the grunge days but i was still listening to everything from Nirvana to Alice n Chains and feel like it all needs to stay relevant today! Pop and Rap have been dominating for too long ; )

  • let's see...every band he has ever been in hasn't worked out. Kinduv makes me wonder why but I still like him.

  • A lot of bands dont work out.

Go look at why soundgarden even broke up. Also temple of the dog, was just a side project. And learn how to spell kind of.

  • First of all I knew TOTD was a side project and you understood what I meant KINDUV. DOUCHE NOZZLE

  • hahahahaha

  • looks like half the ppl the zoom in on fumble with the lyrics

  • it's just not the same without a vedder/cornell duo on this song. Cornell is still amazing, though...Rocking after all these years.

  • i think he's totally off the market... compare it with eddie vedder, who's also been making music as long as cornell, and look at an live pearl jam concert, vedder's still full of energy, maybe his voice isn't as 100% as in the 90's but the power's the same!

  • Is there anywhere I could download these concerts? LIke a dvd?

  • u people are just jealous of him

  • OH yeh and if you hear when he sang this with Ed a few years back...you could really tell there was a difference...he really felt it..when he sings it by himself..its just like ...blah.

  • dude if they did a new temple cd i would giz on myself on my way to buy it.

  • total agree, and with messed up pants and all, I would still walk into the store and buy it. lol

  • he's far too young to be putting in this little energy

I've seen 62 y/o eric clapton do better

I think he just lost his passion for rock

  • probably sick of these songs that haunt him. you would get like that too.

  • do what he has done. then judge him.

  • Don't get me wrong, I have so much respect for him.

    Huge TOTD/Soundgarden/Audioslave/Solo fan

But I think he has lost his passion for rock, hence the new album

  • i agree and disagree. i dont think he's lost the passion for rock, just tryin' out a diffrent sound. just hope he doesnt stay that way.

  • i saw him live about a month ago and even with the new stuff, he was more rocking than ever before, it seemed like he actually shyed away from the new stuff- he definatley still loves to rock

  • He hasn't lost a passion for rock at all. I was at his concert last weekend and he rocked the place down. He did this Scream album, because like what Soundgarden did for grunge/rock, he knows what he's known for, but he also enjoys experimenting with music, and thats what the Scream album is. a true cornell fan will stick with him through anything

I loved his voice then, and from his concert last weekend, he still has it. I love his voice now. He is one of the best.

  • Cornell isn't abandoning anyone, like you said he's still Rock at heart.

I would assume he just got bored and felt like trying something new.

People don't seem to understand that if he was actually going to sell out then he'd reform Soundgarden. I give him props for staying true to himself and not closed-minded "fans". That's not to say all his fans are, but they're out there lol

  • screem is a failure Chris abandoned a successful business model to chase soul music? BUNK!

  • what a sadness..chris doesn't have the energy that had when he was with soundgarden...even with audioslave he sang better than in this vid...

  • Doing just fucking fine,I say & most will agree!!!or they're deaf?? Gettin old like me....you'll b old too!

  • GREAT!!!

  • he has had many performances over the years, i dont expect him to be on key. thats his way of singing. i really like it. chek chester in 20 years from now.

  • so has vedder and his voice sounds no different than it did when they put of ten.

  • vedder sings completly different then chris. chris put so much more strain on his voice in the 80s and 90s..

  • his voice isnt as good as when he recorded this with temple, but still a very good performance from cornell

  • A new Temple of the Dog album would be so damn great!

  • He can still hit those high notes! Simply fantastic =) x

  • fuck he hits that high note so effortlessly man n he has some cool aggresiveness going o nthere

  • you kidding he leaves out the highest notes- an what you're hearing's obviously far from effortless

  • well compare the way he tries to hit them to the way chester bennington tries. chris looks so relaxed when he sings that shit.

  • I like this drummer

  • Chris has the most kick ass fuckin scream

  • He still remains the most amazing of them all! Awesome performance! Lucky crowd, I never had a chance to see Chris...

  • yeah, this guy did a real good job singing the vedder parts, I don't know why they didn't let him just song it on the parts that chris does high and they just left it out...chris did this even better when I saw him, but this is still amazing.

  • Man...got to see Soundgarden playing live again! The should do it when Pearl Jam is off tour, so that Matt is on the bill!

  • Wow...No doubt one of the Most Talented singers i have ever heard!

  • <3 i love u LOVE MEEEEE g

  • I'm sure if Soundgarden was to reunite, Matt would leave Pearl Jam TO reunite, but they may not reunite at all.

    What does Kim do now?

  • When you say Matt, do you mean Matt Cameron?

Is he with Pearl Jam now?

  • sure is m8

  • I didn't want to believe these comments before viewing this. having seen it now I must agree he sucks here. thats really a shame because having seen him and Chester from LP do this song live at Projekt Revolution I love this song. for those that say it shouldn't be done without Eddie, watch Chester, IMO he does it justice.

  • dude chester cant reach chris' tone it wasnt even close

chester is an excelent singer but in his own songs although i cant say i didnt like him singing it

  • Temple of the Dog lives!!

  • dammet,...i wish that he was still with soundgarden, atleast audioslave

  • FOR REAL

  • Chris is really having trouble here. Im soryr but this song shouldn't be done w/o Eddie. I wouldn't even try and sing his part, its just not right.

  • Beloved Cornell is truely battling with this one.And I'm sorry but 'Hunger Strike' isn't 'Hunger Strike' unless it's with Temple of the Dog.

  • It just seems like he just mumbles through the words today instead of putting a little effort...

He still nails the hard notes - but through the verses I wish he'd sing out a little more

  • 1:10

    My sister \o/

  • sry but wtf you on about you not making sence, was that your point o_0

  • best rock voice of the 90s..one of the best rock voice ever

  • dudes range has nothing to do with if you are a baritone, tenor or whatever, really a baritone can reach potentially the same notes as a tenor can, have you ever heard CC speak in interviews, his speaking voice is very low!

  • Thanks, at least I know im not alone.

  • Chris rocks men!!!

the best vocal in the world!!

    come on soundgarden back!!

  • soundgarden reunioin come on !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Matt is busy with PJ. And I don't really see Kim Thayil going back to this, he's having too much fun with his sludgie and droner friends.

It would be really cool to see them live, but highly improbable.

  • does he do all of his good shit when he touring solo b/c im thinkin about gettin tickets 2 projekt revolution?

  • Yeah you usually get all hits from his 3 former bands and solo work. Go check it out.

  • That is one incredible voice...wow

  • ...and this song must be support by Ed.V voice

  • Amazing, I had goosebumps, his voice is awesome..

  • i wonder why pearl jam rarely performs this song..... hungerstrike is one of the best songs i've heard....

  • Because it needs Chris :)

  • This song is pure brilliance. Chris' voice is truly a gift.

  • thanks for sharing this videos!

    cheers

  • stuff like this only show what kind of influence Cornell's had over 90's music. look at how many undeniable classics he's written or performed on.

    - "Hunger Strike"

    - "Say Hello to Heaven"

    - "Rusty Cage"

    - "Outshined"

    - "Jesus Christ Pose"

    - "Black Hole Sun"

    - "Spoonman"

    - "Like A Stone"

    the list goes on...

  • screw the hits... i have alot of old soundgarden shit, when he was all tripped out and long haired.... some of his best vocal performances are on those albums.... man can sing.... there are alot of vocalist in rock... but if you can be a "SINGER".... than you know you kick ass

  • I'd have to agree, his hair was the magic in his voice it would seem...

  • My hair stood on its end

  • Eddie Vedder couldn't hold a candle to Chris Cornell's voice, Sorry to all you PJ fans but it is true

  • Yeah I even prefer Scott Weiland's old voice to Eddie's. (Plush acoustic fucking epic)

  • Oh Please!!!!

  • I have to agree on Plush, tune the axe a tone down puts it in a really cool key for Scott's voice. A really cool acoustic version !!

As for Eddie... i think his voice as always been great...

  • i'm not a pearl jam fan but, no

  • I love Eddie's voice but Chris is truly gifted he was the Robert Plant of the 90's

  • vedder is baritone, cornell is more little bit more high tenor than tenor

  • Nope. Chris is a baritone. He's a baritone with a very good command of his higher register, but he's a baritone. Both Chris and Eddie are baritones.

  • If you don't think Cornell is a baritone, you obviously don't have any knowledge of the vocal tessituras. Baritone is the middle tessitura and it's the most common of all male vocal ranges.

Chris Cornell is most certainly a baritone. He's a baritone with a strong command of his upper register, but he is nonetheless, a baritone.

  • WHERES KIM THAYIL???

  • this song brings back memories about the early hours of the 7th july,07 mmmmm

  • hmmm what happend sounds interesting

  • good song, the bassist looks like hes gotta pee, bad.

  • hahaha :D

  • yeah he can still kinda hit the high notes that he used to be able to hit but from the looks on his face it seems to be somewhat of a struggle. Still, hes godly

  • yeah he can still kinda hit the high notes that he used to be able to hit but from the looks on his face it seems to be somewhat of a struggle. Still, hes godly

  • LOVE this song!!Chris is awesome enough in his own right to do this song without Ed,but Eddie WE MISS YOU!!Can't beat them two together!OMG,to have a voice like Chris's,wow!

  • He needs to write some heavy metal again.

  • Really miss the screaming vocals ... Still God by a long distance ...

  • i think chris is doing fine!

he's a great songwriter and singer

and i'll hope he will be here for a while!

  • Lady at like 1:40 kinda looks like Bam Margera's mom.

  • damn u stringebean

  • theres just not the energy he had back in the day, i know part of its cuz its old

  • He is not old and he had still monstrons power in his voice

  • este culiao que canta bkn!!!

  • They should've invited Eddie as Pearl Jam did Chris Cornell.

  • Maybe they did and he couldn't?

Maybe Eddie was too busy touring?

    Maybe?

  • you know im as big a pearl jam fan as the next guy, but i dont really think they are needed in hunger strike, at least in order for it to have the best sound. the best part of the song is chris' vocals. everyone knows that. my retarded gay cousin can sing eddies part.

  • HAHA..that is true...funny but true...and im an eddie vedder fan..

  • Without Eddie is not the same. :/

  • oh man i cant believe how old he is now, it seemed like just yesterday when this song came out. sniff i miss the old days but new horizons are coming, i can feel it.

  • rcoks!I feel sad for chris though, and I admire hime greatly for working his lungs so hard despite how hard it is for him probably.

  • cool :D where is Eddie? xD

  • excelente voz! es un maestro este tipo!

  • made mike8610´s words mine

  • oh man, wish McCready, Gossard, Ament, Cameron, Vedder were here

  • This man is a genius!!!
