I have recently come to know this serenata for a study I'm doing, and I believe I may have found a new favorite. The entire work is amazing, but this aria, as well as Polifemo's other aria, 'Non sempre, no, crudele' really got me hooked. Absolutely exquisite!

This is an elegant and delicious air for bass. And it is sung with such delicacy and warmth. This is in my opinion one of a handful of airs which truely show the breadth and range of the bass-baritone.
