Rekha aka Meenu kutty!! Another one of the short lived malayalam actress. She used to be lal's heroine. In one of the recent lal movies she was the heroine's amma vesham. I read somewhere the crowd yelled "meeenu kutty" when the frame of both of them together came! I think that is funny.

Goutham: There are plethora of Muslims in Indian arts scene.You can count all the way from Mammootty to ARRahman to Shahruk to Ustad Zakir Hussain. That doesnt mean that they all had given up their religion and are following your "Indian Hindu" culture. In fact this "Indian Hindu culture" itself has lot of influence from Mughal era. Try taking a pledge that you will not see/listen to a Muslim Indian artist and you will realize that your choice has become quite narrow.

I've read Mahabharat. i think you have to read it. if 'Sati' was compulsory, then why did 'Kunti',mother of pandavas did not commit 'sati' after the death of King pandu ? 'Madri' voluntarily immolated' because she was guilty as she was indirectly responsible for the death of her husband, who was cursed by the sage that copulation would lead to his death.

Even in Ramayana, the wives of king Dasaratha did not commit sati after his death.

There is nothing like 'Caste' in sanathan dharama (hinduism). In our scriptures,there are only four varnas which is completely different from today's caste system. The modern caste system is based on social sanction but not religious sanction.
