I love this version. Slow start - winter that starts out peaceful, serene, mild. Such winter is clean, such winter is beautiful... and yet the freezing temperature, the bare trees, the silence... all an ominous warning of what lies ahead. The slower two-by-two beat reminds me of gentle snowflakes, flying to and fro, to and fro as they fall. And then at 1.39, winter picks up. A strong and icy breeze hits you and vanishes, leaving you cold and sober from your winter fantasies. A short pause.

Then another appears. And another. By 2.15 you are in full retreat-running, tripping, scrambling for the nearest shelter you can find. And then you are finally inside somewhere warmer. You look outside. Things are deceptively peaceful again. You wonder at winter - so beautiful and peaceful and yet so... ruthless, cold, and even dangerous. But such is the winter, and even as you wonder winter picks up again, and you realize this as you watch the beginnings of a blizzard form outside your window.

this only applies to the baroque era. for classical composers, there are haydn, beethoven, and mozart. for romantic era theres chopin, liszt, smetana, schumann, and whole bunch of others. everyone has different perspectives, so you can't say that for sure. though i love vivaldi also

If all opinions have equal validity then you are arging that the child who plays a grade one violin is just as good as Kennedy or Vengerov! A 5yr old painting at primary school has the same skill Rembrandt!

If the girl in question and the guy in this video went for auditions to play vivaldi's music with a top orchestra, then the young girl wouldn't stand a cat in hells chance of being picked to play. In music esp. classical music, we have bench marks or tests that musicians must pass as regard proficiency. E.g. hundreds apply to join the European Youth Orchestra only the talented few make the grade.
