Videos are so much better using steadicams! I've beens using a Cam Caddie SCorpion in lieu of trying to make a homemade one. I've been very happy with the results and would suggest one to all DIY'ers
First off I don't work for Steadicam or Tiffen (The company that builds and sells the Steadicam) I actually bought a VariZoom Aviator MX Rig. Buy the Steadicam training video from Tiffen. I did, and it's awesome. You'll learn a lot.
