Hated the video because I am addicted to buying korg gear and because the video was so good and sounded so good I now have to go out and buy a Radias for my home studio :D
Does the Radias hardware and the Radias EXB do the all the same things?
Silly question I know... I reallize that this unit has actual hands on knobs and buttons that the EXB uses the touch screen. But I was just wondering if they are indeed the same exact thing just controlled differently? Thanks for any info on this.
Yeah keep up that cool work ! So much "preset playing" (and bad mic quality...) in other videos, i love your vids. Best part is 6:53, lol i love that part! The sounds you are playing are wicked!
I like your videos very much. Youtube is full of crazy people, who're just playing ROM-Sounds in a often bad way. You know how to create sounds, and the tracks are really cool!
Love your sounds and playing my friend. I really wanted a Radius, but settled for the R3 due to money. I'm really happy with it though, but still would have loved to have gotten this board instead.
@chizmo7 Hes not showing how he can play it . He's showing The sounds you can create with it . Thats what synthesizers do . you might want to watch videos for the piano , that might suit your needs more than what this is about . Thanks
@Flipjunkie1 That's what synthesizers do? Did you happen to notice the big keyboard attached to the synthesizer? Do you think it's just a coincidence that it's a KEYBOARD? I bought my first minimoog in 1978.
I did so because I heard actual musicians play synthesizers. people like Herbie Hancock. Chick Corea. Jan Hammer. David Sancious. Kit Watkins. Not only were they amazing trained musicians, but they created their own signature sounds. THAT'S what synthesizers do.
@chizmo7 i play many instruments but ELECTRONIC Music these days has a lot to do with programing sounds ..very complex ones And yes people do play they're instruments within a song when it comes to needing piano or guitar sounds ect. And synths have arpeggiators for a reason and that reason is to be used ! IM sure you wouldn't tell Pink Floyd to rewrite they're songs because they didn't play every note , the arpeggiator played a lot ! that BIG KEYBOARD also trigger arp chords ! I want ur MOOG !
i must say that you have convinced me to keep my Radias Rack. You have programmed sound amazing sounds. Do you have these sounds available? Do you sell them? Great demo of a synth that Korg should have continued developing.
This synth's filter and waveforms sound very clean, but experimenting with overdriving the seperate bands on the distortion effect and the drive/waveshaper can give the sound a bit more grit and vintage character, particularly when used in the mid to high-mid range. The flexibility is impressive.
Nope. Jexus puts the year it was introduced before each synth, not the year of manufacture. For example, the JP-8000 demo says it's a "1996" Roland JP-8000 while manufacturing didn't start until January 1997 I think.
OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Beginning was FUCKING AMAZING! YOU HAVE GOT TO TEACH ME THE SEQUENCE! After hearing it, I got this seriously cool idea for a song! OMG PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
His vids and reviews are a welcome corrective to that dismal bunch whose religious belief in the VCO (either via boutique synth or original 70's agricultural implement whose sonic potential remains as earth-bound as a 1977 dogshit) as the wellspring of musical inspiration, is as laughable as it is lacking in imagination. Jexus' off-world explorations with reasonably-priced digisynths are beyond the concept of the crew who think cranking the filter-knob is serious synth playing. Real maaaan!
@pierstheoneandonly hmmm....I doubt Jexus has gotten rid of his Korg 800DV and Oddysey for digital or DCO replacements.
If you don't like or need the vintage sound then that's totally cool, but please do spend some time w/ using the real deal before making statements like that. Put a Radias next to either VCO analog and the difference is obvious from the get-go.
Very nice demo! And a very nice synth. Do you play in a band? Your sounds are great! I was wating for this demo a very long time, because i want to know what you can do with a Korg Radias.
Radias is not the same as the R3. The Radias has 3 times the polyphony of the R3 (especially helpful seeing as I'm pretty sure each voice of the sequencer is one voice).
Wicked, was really looking forward for this particular demo, been interested in this one since I tried it out in a store some 3 years ago, knew very little about synths back then but I liked the sound and thought it looked damn cool with those illuminated rings around the knobs and flashing buttons :) Somehow the demos I've heard of it online hasn't impressed me very much, until now. Thanks a thousand, love my MS2000 to bits and this sounds like a worthy successor indeed!
