i remember i had to do everything i could to get the marine corps recruiters away from me when i graduated high school. I thought to myself, "well if they are desperate enough to recruit someone like me then they must have some serious problems because who am i and why are you coming to me when i wasn't even interested at all to begin with."
I am 14 years old and would like to become a marine when i grow up. And not just any marine, a scout sniper. It would be my dream to serve my country, and i have always thought about it. My dad was a marine and he graduated 2nd in his class in boot camp. But when i think about how marines are usually the first ones on the line it scares me to think about how fast my life could end. Does this mean i dont have what it takes? Am i expected to "laugh at death"? Because im not sure i can do that.

I am 14 years old and would like to become a marine when i grow up. And not just any marine, a scout sniper. It would be my dream to serve my country, and i have always thought about it. My dad was a marine and he graduated 2nd in his class in boot camp. But when i think about how marines are usually the first ones on the line it scares me to think about how fast my life could end. Does this mean i dont have what it takes? Am i expected to "laugh at death"? Because im not sure i can do that.
