@araknoth it's all about the kind of guitar you have, and it's also about the amp you're using. Best of getting these sounds out of your guitar is using humbuckers, a metal kind, like some of Esp or Ibanez. for the amp you should get a Roland Cube and set it on metal, or something. there is a Roland Cube standing right next to me! good luck, and a happy new year

well i'm having the Roland Cube 30 here, that costs about 200 or maybe 250 euros. In American pounds I think about 300. And that is a beautiful amp of 30 watt, and yes, you can get a hell of some sound out of 30 watt. there are also Roland Cubes for less money, but that means also less watt. (the real work starts about 30 watt). and there is also a roland cube of 60 watt for about 450 euros. i guess that is about 550 pounds.
