Problem with wenkel rotary engines is that they don't produce much torque, so you have to rev them like a Civic Si, but you don't get the fuel economy benefits of a car like the Si. IMO I'd rather have the turbo from the MS3 pushing the rear wheels. In a 2700lb MX5, that would be plenty fast :)

they ruined it, I hear it's a much smaller car with a smaller engine. if it looks anything like this... it's finished! that bmw look is just so ugly. I/m keeping my 2006 mx5 it's the best and will become a hot collector's car.

oval taillights have been one of the miata's signiature styling cues since it's inception. The front grille being so much forward of the headlights ruins the fun-to-drive inviting appearance that all the previous miatas had. If this is the 2012 miata, I probably wouldn't buy it.
