Living in a pokémon world would just be the best thing ever. You get a free pokémon, travel around as much as you like, pick berries, make poffins, meet so many interesting people, just tell your mom you'll be traveling all alone for about 5 years in different regions, trying to become a pokémon master and in the mean time, you risk your life to defeat evil organisations, and apparently every region has one and they can only be defeated by a child. Damn I wanna live in a pokémon world

@RevlisRPG Incorrect. The translation is that Blue is the girl and Green is the boy. You see the first two games were Aka (Red) and Midori (Green). Then Ow (Blue) was the third pocketmoster Game. Red and Green meet up first and Blue meets Red later. But Nintendo of America decided to exclude the Green version this is why there is a mix up. The correct Translation is as I stated it. It is Nintendo of America's fault for this mix up. Okay?

@soniknynja Nope, the ones you mentioned are counterparts. And Gary Motherfuckin' Oak is Green's counterpart, not Blue. To make it clear, the girl is named Blue and the boy is named Green in Japan atleast. Which I prefer. But my point is, for example, Sapphire and May are not the same people, they may looks the same but have different personalities and different parents etc. Like May likes contests, while Sapphire likes gym battles.

And Prof. Oak would have another grand-son that looks like gary. I just think the anime and manga are just 2 different universes. But if you look at the time-table, the manga comes first because Red is the first trainer from pallet town.

in the american version of the manga, the boy was blue and the girl was green

in the japanese version the names were switched

the online version refers to them as their japanese names, which is why most of the fandom assume them by their japanese names, the only places that refer to them by their american names are bulbapedia, and a certain printed version of the english manga

The reason I say this is because the anime is sooo... childish. The manga however, has real substance within the story. I mean really? Ash somehow staying ten years old despite being with pikachu for (and I QUOTE FROM THE ANIME) "over a year." The manga is also not afraid to get down to earth whereas in the anime, somehow, getting hit by a THUNDERBOLT OF ALL THINGS DOESN'T IRREPARABLY HARM ANYTHING. Having the budget of the anime, I think, would be the greatest thing for the manga.

Then it got boring with the same thing happening over and over again - "Help! Someone stole my Pokemon!; we'll help, I'm Ash, and I'm Dawn, etc.; turns out Team Rocket was behind it; Team Rocket gets blasted into the air." At least the manga has a different plot everytime - the Masked Man, the Guile and Battle Frontier; Elite Four!

@pao3360 I think that it has to do with his age. Remember, Red, Green, and Blue were the original pokedex trainers(Yellow came later). The following year, new trainers were given a pokedex: Gold, Silver, and Crystal. The FOLLOWING year, Ruby and Sapphire got theirs, but in a different region. You see, each time, there is a new generation, which means the previous generations get older as new trainers appear.

Besides, Sapphire is sort of leaning up on the railing, making Ruby look short anyways.

@pao3360 no, this isn't the anime where ash apparently never grows up. here, the characters can get older. Proof is when Gold refers to Red, Green, and Blue as their Seniors(or something ike that) in chapter 178ish. Also, in chapter 32, Sapphire calls Gold and Crystal THEIR seniors, so yeah..

(also, ash is still ten.. its been 14 seasons... and he's still ten...)
