i always wondered why that yellow area always shows up on the rivet board after you complete it. i guess it's part of the bootleg. we loved this version in paterson, especially the "pie" board with the conveyor belts.

Also another small trick is keeping your hand at the top of a ladder when on the barrel screen. Again some of the different versions allowed this and others did not. This is very easy to get on MAME. I have it and play it from time to time. I always liked this better than Donkey Kong.

This game is very real and depending on what version you played you could run behind the Ape on the rivet screen. You could also steal 100 points if you got close to it and did a backwards jump. I too pumped a ton of quarters into this game. The highest I ever got was around 200,000 though. It was always cool to watch others faces when you jumped off board one to clear the screen.

My friend Pat and I would play this back when we were high school, but we would call it "Inferior Kong" because we knew it wasn't as good as Donkey Kong! It was great to see this clip and remember playing this!
